Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and lots of crafty plans worked into your busy schedules somewhere. I definitely was busy with a wonderful weekend class, and a fabulous, but fast, visit from Mary Fish. A few of my crafty gals had the chance to meet her and chat. It was really a lot of fun!
It's time to play with the Paper Players [PP345] this week; and what a fun challenge we have this week! I took this opportunity to kind of kill two birds with one stone. Or maybe three! LOL I wanted to showcase our brand new 2017-2019 In Color collection - so beautiful; and what the perfect opportunity to use a favorite stamp set and create some sweet thank you cards all in one swoop.
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. Well, it's all about the CAS (Clean and Simple) designing this week; so these wonderful cards each showcase one of the new In Colors, both in the card base (cut 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2") and in the main large flower inked to match the focal color. Then there is a nice mat piece of Basic Black topped with Whisper White which holds all the fun stamping. Black gives a nice clean "break point" and pops the colors nicely.
- Garden In Bloom. When I first saw this week's "theme" centered around butterflies, I thought I'd probably gravitate toward Butterfly Basics, Watercolor Wings, or even our soon retiring Papillon Potpourri. But I picked up Garden In Bloom earlier in the day for a different project and realized that this sweet "watercolor inspired" stamp set had some cute butterflies all its own embedded in the images, and so I decided it was time to play. This stamp set is a 2-step stamp set, and will be in our 2017-2018 Annual Catalog (not retiring), so I'm exited to be able to enjoy it for another year. It is so easy and fun to use and you can create some wonderful backgrounds with this stamp set. I showcased a "feature" In Color from the new coming collection on each card; and accented with some of our current In Color (Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, and Emerald Envy). So really, these designs are all In Color. Can you believe how lovely they all look together? :-)
- Those Twirling Butterflies. LOL Yes, indeed! I had some fun with these butterflies. There are two sizes (the smaller are in Peekaboo Peach); and one is fussy cut and attached with a glue dot or two on each card. I added some fun loop-d-loops with each butterfly with a little simple doodling and a black journaling pen. Really, this is such an easy way to add a little interest to your card designs. A few pearls finish them all off (with some Clear Wink of Stella on the fussy cut butterfly). Do you know what new In Color is showcased on this card??
- Cottage Greetings Thanks. The "Thanks" sentiment on this card design is from the soon retiring Cottage Greetings stamp set. I love this font of the sentiments in this stamp set, and am really going to miss this set. I got the idea of turning the greeting vertically from another card I saw on Pinterest; and I thought, hey, why not? I love the idea - not everything has to be horizontal, right? I like changing things up and this is just fabulous!! Each card the "thanks" is placed a little bit differently depending on how my little butterflies and flowers lined up. I think I like the sentiment closer to the left edge - at least that's what I've decided as I've looked at each card! 😉
- Turn to the Inside. A little simple stamping on the inside of each card showcases my little butterflies flitting on by. They are stamped to coordinate in the same color as the card base for that card. Do you know which color is showcased here ?? 😉
These were easy to make; I whipped 10 of these together in just an hour or so on Sunday afternoon. I'm in love with our new In Color collection I have to tell you. I hope you're drooling as much as I am an are ready to snap it all up on June 1st! 🙂 I think we're going to have a lot of fun with Summer cards this year in these luscious colors. In the meantime, don't miss out on soon retiring sets and accessories. We only have about 10 more days, and then all the retiring goodies are gone!
Until Next Time . . .
