Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
TGIF!! A working Friday for me, so it will be off to work - and hopefully I'll get to slip out early this afternoon and enjoy the pretty Spring day that's shaping up around here today and for the weekend ahead. It's Mother's Day weekend! Can you believe that??
And it's time for this week's Mojo Monday [MOJO496] card design. So I decided that today not only would we have a Mother's Day theme to my card, but we'd start a "sneak peak" of the beautiful new products coming soon in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. Oh my gosh do I love this catalog. And I know you are going to too!! So are you ready? Let's play 🙂
Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:
- Layerothology. This card base is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4". The pretty and simple background paper is from the new Delightful Daisy designer series paper - you're going to fall in love with this paper collection, I can assure you! Calypso Coral and Peekaboo Peach are the pop colors of choice today!
- Mom in Daisies. Oh my! What you don't know is I waited a very long time to purchase the Large Letters framelits (and the corresponding stamp set) that was introduced last year. It's a very expensive set but one I've wanted since the beginning. In the current Annual Catalog it is bundled which saves you 10% on the total price of the two items together. They will not be bundled when the new Annual comes out next month. I was finally in a position last month to buy this bundle and make it work in my budget - and I'm so excited!! I pulled those wonderful letter framelits out this week and used them for the very first time - cutting "Mom" from another piece of the new Delightful Daisy DSP - sooooo pretty! And so easy!! Eeeeeek ~ I'm so excited.
The backdrop of Peek-a-boo Peach was embossed with the Petal Burst TIEF.
Then the letters were popped with dimensionals just so and tucked in with each other.
Then I stamped and punched (yes, we have a new punch) my cute little daisies - oh so pretty and easy!
Each flower was stamped and punched twice in two different colors and then layered together with glue dots.
Finally - I used brand new Gold Faceted Gems in the center of each popped up flower!
This pretty "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is from the Oh So Succulent stamp set. Perfect and simple in Night of Navy to finish off the front of this card.
- Turn to the Inside. The inside of this card was a little bit of an "accident". I had pulled out this washi tape when I was trying to figure out the front of the card, and I had the two extra daisies already stamped and punched and lying there because I thought I was putting another daisy bunch on the front. So when I went to put together the inside of the card, I was like, hey -- I'll just use this, and this, and . . . Yup! Sometimes it's just meant to be. The centers of these daisies are colored with Gold Wink of Stella so they have a nice glimmer to them. The sentiment placed in the lower right-hand corner is from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set and goes perfectly with the front of the card. It also allows plenty of room to write a little note to Mom.
I'm taking Mom to brunch tomorrow morning and this card will go perfectly with the pretty little Oriole (that's a bird - LOL) music box that I got her a month or so back. I think she's going to like it - what do you think?? All these new goodies are going to be available to you on June 1st. Start making those Wish Lists -- this is one set you're going to want!! 😉 Well, I'm off to a busy day and a busy weekend ahead. I hope everyone has a great weekend with great plans. Lots of graduations going on last weekend and this weekend. It's a busy time!!
Until Next Time . . .
