Hello Fellow Stampers ~
How are all you crafters today? It's a "break the records" warm day here in Colorado . . . right before we plummet into the snow and cold tomorrow afternoon! That's Colorado weather for ya'! Wait an hour and you'll get something totally different -- LOL
Sooooo, this is the "post late in the day" blog post week! Just too crazy of a schedule right now and things haven't gotten done quite on my normal schedule. If there is anything I've learned this year, it's not to get uptight about the "little things" and to go easier on myself. So now I don't stress if the blog post isn't ready by 3:30 am every morning!!
This past weekend, during our Spooky Fun Halloween Class, I had a conversation with a customer about all the different colors you could stamp the sunflower with in the Painted Harvest stamp set. She commented that she has trouble seeing the flower in anything but traditional colors (yellow and oranges), and has been surprised at all the pretty combinations she has run across on the internet. Ahhhhh . . . yes!! Let's explore some wonderful colorways for that beautiful sunflower today!!
Let's talk through each row, left to right (remember you can click on the photo to get an enlarged image). The first color listed is stamped in the fuller background image; the second color listed is the overlay detailed image. Remember, this is a 2-step stamp.
Top Row, Left to Right: Powder Pink & Crumb Cake (ignore my writing up there, it's a mistake -- LOL); Blushing Bride & Flirty Flamingo; Rich Razzleberry & Berry Burst; Soft Suede & Fresh Fig
Second Row, Left to Right: Peekaboo Peach & Cajun Craze; Pumpkin Pie & Tangerine Tango; Crushed Curry & Soft Suede; Smoky Slate & Marina Mist
Bottom Row, Left to Right: Marina Mist & Dapper Denim; Tranquil Tide & Bermuda Bay; Blushing Bride & Cherry Cobbler; Lemon Lime Twist & Old Olive
And that's just playing with a few different combinations. Think of all the others you can try! Wow! The reality is, when trying to work color combinations, the best thing you can do is experiment. Just pull out those colors, try different things together, and see how it looks! It's amazing, isn't it?
Just a Note: I have recently re-inked several of my ink pads (Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach) and so some of the stamping looks a little splotchy. This can happen when you first get your ink pad all juicy again. I'll talk soon about how to deal with an over-juicy ink pad!! So stay tuned 😉
I hope you've found this fun and informative today. Pull out that gorgeous stamp set, pull out your ink pads -- and just play!! Have fun being creative!!
Until Next Time . . .
