Good Morning Fellow Stampers !!
It's the second Wednesday of the month, and that means, it's Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop time! Yeah1 Welcome to our November 2017 Blog Hop featuring projects centered around the theme “Anything But a Card.” Thank you so much for joining us today. Sit back and enjoy the view while the Stampin’ Pretty Pals wow you with projects like home decor items, gifts and 3-D items. Maybe even some card gift sets. You never know what you might find! 😉
You may be one of my regular followers and are just starting the hop here with me, or you may be arriving from Debbie Mageed's Secret Stamper blog (isn't she wonderful!). Either way, don't worry about getting lost ~~ you’ll find the entire blog line-up at the end of my blog post today to help you move along. Now, let's get started on a fun project that I've been dreaming of doing for quite some time!!
I have always wanted to do a sampler - being a quilter, the idea of a sampler with our paper products has always intrigued me.
And, some of my most favorite Australian demos do the sampler in just superb fashion! So I hope I have done this justice today!!
I found an inexpensive 12" x 12" frame at Michael's.
And being it's November, I pulled out all the wonderful Autumn products from our Holiday Occasions catalog (and a few from the Annual too) and just spent several happy hours at my work table playing.
The background mat is a piece of 12" x 12" Cajun Craze cardstock, and I cut one of my favorite patterns from the Painted Autumn designer series paper to 11" x 11" - this is my background and what a wonderful jumping off point.
Each square is created with a Very Vanilla Scalloped Layering Square - the largest scallop in the set.
And then layered with a variety of cardstock, pieces of designer paper, and other fun pieces and parts from die cuts and embellishments.
I used our Layering Squares and Layering Circles, the Sweet & Sassy framelits, and the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits dies. Oh, and there's a little fussy cutting too!! LOL
Oh man -- this really was fun!!
The center square has one of our Gold Foil Snowflakes in the background, a piece of Burlap Ribbon, and a lovely Sweet & Sassy heart cut from Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored with Crushed Curry, Lemon Lime Twist, and Old Olive inks. The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons set. I placed the center square first; then measured and worked all the other squares around it. It's not hard -- just takes a little time to work out the measurements and make sure everything will line up just right!
Oh, notice Mister Cat snuck in too?? LOL 🐱
Copper Trim (stretched and spread) to the left; and Glitter Enamel dots to finish things off.
The top row features leaves from both the Leaflets framelits and the Seasonal Layers thinlits, and wonderful Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Seam binding double bow, and some Swirly Scribbles with sequins and Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon with some more leaves.
Wish you could see this fun art piece in person!
I'm so excited about it -- and might even make it a gift to a special person! Fabulous decor; fabulous gift!
What more could you ask!! 😄
I hope you had fun with my project today. Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals. Be sure you come back next month on December 13, 2017, for the next Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop. Next up today is Pamela Sadler at Stampin' Pink Rose. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!
Until Next Time . . .
