Hello Fellow Stampers :-)
Happy Monday! We're going to have a topsy turvy week with the weather this week - one day very warm; the next will have snow!! LOL . . . Crazy Colorado, that's what I call it! I hope everyone had a pleasant weekend. I ended my weekend binge watching one of my favorite series from AMC - "Turn: Washington's Spies". I love history, and I love how this short 4-season series was done so masterfully. I think we need to be reminded of the HUGE sacrifices that were given for the birthing of this country. And I find all the semantics so interesting! Anyway - enough of the hullabaloo . . . LOL
Today, it's time to "mix" things up a little bit, and play with stamps, ink and paper! I want to showcase something I don't do very often, but being a quilter and a cross-stitcher, I do LOVE Samplers! So today, we are going to create an "unorthodox" sampler for Valentine's Day. I say "unorthodox" - because most samples are a grid of rows and columns that showcase something special within each square of that grid. Today, we have a more "unorthodox" sampler, in that although I have stayed to the "feel" of a grid overall - we don't have a strict rows and columns with squares type sampler. This one is really fun actually - and I hope you'll enjoy it.
This Sampler features a number of new stamp sets and products - which is really the whole point of a Sampler; to showcase all sorts of fun goodies!!
You will find the Sure Do Love You Bundle of products in this project, the Petal Palette Bundle, the Heart Happiness stamp set, and a sentiment from the Love You Still stamp set.
Colorology
Today's color combination can be found within the color mix of the gorgeous Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love how these colors work so well together.
All of the hearts cut for this "falling" lineup of hearts are cut using the Sweet & Sassy Framelits - a perfect match to the Heart Happiness Stamp Set; the Layering Squares Framelits create the perfect backdrop.
A little Petal Palette ~ a little "rock 'n roll inking technique! So much fun!
You'll find the gorgeous butterfly image in the Beautiful Day stamp set; this butterfly is stamped with Versamark, and embossed with Gold embossing powder. The Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, and Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends alcohol markers help create the perfectly "blended" butterfly to set off this "lovely" collection. The butterfly is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock, fussy cut, and Clear Wink of Stella was added for lots of wonderful shimmer.
The hearts to the right are cut using the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. One is stamped with and cut; the other is cut from the Painted With Love SDSP.
The bottom right flower was stamped and embossed in Gold embossing powder - image from the Petal Palette stamp set.
Calypso Coral ink on Calypso Coral cardstock - fussy cut to finish it off.
It's a project I had a lot of fun putting together -- now to find the perfect frame!!
I hope you have enjoyed today's Mix-It Up Monday project and that you'll feel empowered to go create one of your own. All of the products to create today's project can be found in my Online Store.
Until Next Time . . .
