Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Here we are for a rare, and fun Sunday blog post. And we're snug inside today while a blizzard rages outside -- a much needed and overdue snowstorm for our area. We have been much to dry this year as the storms have been swirling north and away from us.
Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for January 2018. This month our theme is all about the upcoming Valentine's holiday ~~ and I do love to play with heartsy (my made-up word - LOL) fun during this time of year.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Wendy Klein at Doggone Delightful Stampin' Studios - or may have come from Lisa Ann Bernard @ Queen B Creations, the person previous to me in the list. Wherever you're starting from, no worries -- you can stay on track with the whole hop by following the lineup below. That way you get to see all of today's wonderful "heartsy" projects!!
Today's project is somewhat of a CAS (clean and simple) card showcasing our Brusho Crystals and the beautiful Sure Do Love You stamp set.
The card base is cut from Berry Burst cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"
Then I have two layers of Shimmery White cardstock - cut 4" x 5-1/4"
The first piece is watercolor washed with a mix of Prussian Blue and Brilliant Red Brusho Crystals - using an AquaPainter. Easy peasy Technique Tip: Brusho Crystals have a strong color to them and it takes very little of the crystal "dust" to get color. So be sparing! Use a paper towel to dab up extra water and color; and add a little more between dabbings if you want to change the color just slightly - but again, be sparing!
The watercolored piece was wrapped with a piece of 3/8" Berry Burst Metallic-Edged Ribbon, then SNAIL'd to the card base front.
In the top piece of Shimmery White (cut the same size), I cut a heart in the center using the Lots to Love Box Framelits dies.
The vine heart image is stamped around the outside in Berry Burst; and the piece is embossed with the new Scattered Sequin Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The piece is popped with dimensionals over the watercolored piece - and the bow tied to show through (use glue dots to hold in place while tying and keep it just the way you want!)
The final piece is stamping this sweet sentiment in Berry Burst ink on the heart you have left from the cutout in the center - it's easy to line up and fits perfectly!
It too is popped with dimensionals offset from the cutout.
A sweet and simple card with a wow impact!
On the inside of the card, I used Shimmery White cardstock again; and then stamped this sweet heart image from the Heart Happiness stamp set, repeated up the side.
Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. The next person in the Blog Line-up is Jenn Charles @ BFF Stampers. You can follow along through the entire hop with the Blog List below! Have fun, stay warm - and as always, I'm only an email away if you have questions or need help.
Until Next Time . . .
