Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)
Whew! A waaaaay to fast weekend. Did everyone get to see the Puppy Bowl!?! Miss Sadie and I were glued to our TV set watching the pawtastic antics of the furballs. LOL I love the Puppy Bowl and look forward to it every year.
As for the Super Bowl, if your team was playing, I hope it ended the way you wanted. I didn't have a "dawg" in the game this year (LOL), so I didn't watch.
I have lots of big plans this week for fun projects to share with you. And as Valentine's Day is literally right around the corner, I'm hoping to inspire you with some last minute special ideas for your sweeties!! As you know, I like to do something for my sweetie each day of Valentine's Week . . . so some of this week's projects will be special pieces that he will receive starting this coming weekend! Let's kick off today with a very special Valentine card that was inspired from a very unusual place.
Today's card project is a traditional red and white Valentine - but in a 3D "eclectic" layered look. And I like the clean white-on-white look with the little pops of red.
As I've shared before, I take inspiration for my card designs from a lot of different places.
The inspiration for today's card came from a grocery ad (of all places) that I got in an email earlier in the weekend. The minute I saw it, I knew I saw a card in the making -- LOL
It's amazing what can inspire you if you just keep your eyes open. Look around you and have a keen eye, and you too will find some interesting inspiration.
Do you think today's card looks like this snip of the ad I posted above?
I pulled out the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and had a ball cutting out different shapes and sizes to create this layered look.
By curving the Whisper White hearts with my bone folder, and using a combination of glue dots and dimensionals, it was easy to create this look.
I finished off the design with the "sweet" sentiment from the Sure Do Love You stamp set, cut with the matching framelit from the Lots to Love Box Framelits.
Popped with dimensionals, it slides right in where it belong with the others.
The entire piece is finished off with a little Real Red bow from the 1/8" Solid Ribbon carried over from the 2017 Holiday Occasions Catalog.
Not too fru-fru; but not overly masculine either.
I think just right for Valentine's - what do you think? 😉
For the inside of the card, I kept the clean red & white theme; and used this wonderful sentiment from the Love You Still stamp set, and a few of my leftover heart cutouts.
And there you have it . . . today's Mix-It Up Monday project brings you something a little unusual, inspired by a grocery ad -- LOL. I hope you have enjoyed this and will give it a try. As always, I'm only an email away with any questions about today's project. And you can order all of your supplies in my Online Store (or by clicking on the pics in the table below).
Have a wonderful Monday . . .
Until Next Time . . .
