Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
How is everyone this Wonderful Wednesday? Seems like the perfect time for a simple and quick card design - with a lot of "wonderful" rolled right in. And there is no better stamp set for a quick and easy "wow" effect than the Sale-A-Bration set, Lots of Lavender. I'm feeling fairly remiss for not showcasing this set prior to this - but as we're trying to wind down Sale-A-Bration with a "bang", I'm going to say "better late than never!" 😉
I really love this stamp set. It's a 2-step stamp set, and is so easy and simple to create a "faux" watercolor look, it just makes you giggle!! So let's have a little step-by-step "how to" today and just enjoy!!
1. Cut your card base from Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4". This will be a standard conventional side fold card. Fold and burnish on the score line - Remember!! There is a "right side" and a "wrong side" to your score - fold "IN" on the bump - bump to the inside of the card - to get that pretty professional fold and look.
2. Cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" for your matting. [Don't you just LOVE how Lemon Lime Twist seems to go with everything?!? LOL]
3. Cut a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, at 4" x 5-1/4". Lightly spritz with water, and emboss with the Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - don't you just love it!!??
4. Attach the embossed Sweet Sugarplum to the Lemon Lime Twist; wrap with a piece of 3/8" Sweet Sugarplum Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and adhere to the card front.
5. On Shimmery White cardstock stamp the lavender and leaves detail outline stamp from the Lots of Lavender Sale-a-Bration set, in Smoky Slate. Then using the "solid" images that correspond in the set, stamp the leaves and stem in Lemon Lime Twist, and the flowers in Sweet Sugarplum (my pad is very inky right now, so I think it smudged a little). I think this particular purple has to be my favorite - and is perfect for Lavender!! Cut out you completed stamped image with the largest Layering Ovals Framelit die.
6. Cut out a scallop oval with the largest scallop in the Layerings Ovals Framelits set from Lemon Lime Twist. Then using SNAIL attach the stamped oval to the Lemon Lime Twist scallop oval, offset so just a smidge shows to the upper left. Add dimensionals and attached to the front of the card, so that the "bow" in the image aligns with the wrapped striped ribbon on the front of the card.
7. Create a pretty little bow with the 3/8" Sweet Sugarplum Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, and attach over the "bow" on the stamped image using glue dots. Tip: You can align your bow tails and keep them in place with a little glue dot behind each one.
8. Add some Clear Wink of Stella glimmer to your lavendar, and a few scattered pearls - and the outside of your card is complete!
Here is the inside of my project today!
This is the other stamps in this wonderful little stamp set.
Same thing -- stamp the detailed outline image in Smoky Slate; then the solid images for the "faux watercolor" look in Sweet Sugarplum and Lemon Lime Twist - so easy!!
Has anyone noticed that I've been showcasing our 2016-2018 In Color collection quite a bit this quarter? Why you might ask? Well, besides the fact that some of my favorite colors are in this set, (like the Sweet Sugarplum showcase today), we're quickly approaching "retirement" of this wonderful set of colors. Shortly it will be time to say good bye to Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, and Flirty Flamingo! Yikes! We'll delve into this in detail next week; in the meantime, take a look at all the wonderful products available in these wonderful colors in the Product Carousel below -- and stock up on your favorites TODAY!! Once the official retiring list comes out in a few weeks, these wonderful items will be gone in a FLASH!!! Shop my Online Store today and stock up your stash!!
