Hello Fabulous Fellow Stampers ~
I am sooooo happy that it is the weekend! And an Off-Friday for me! I can't even tell you! I'm planning some serious sleeping in this weekend - LOL
Some of my wonderful stampers will be here tomorrow to play with Barn Doors and faux watercoloring with the Waterfall stamp set! I'm looking forward to a fun and relaxing afternoon together. Maybe even some nice warm chocolate brownies to entice everyone! LOL
If you haven't joined the new DDS Distinctive Dabblers private Facebook group yet, be sure to ask to join today. We're having some fun already - and I don't want anyone to miss out. I'm really looking to "start the conversation" and have folks start sharing their projects, ideas, and inspiration with each other. I'm very excited about this new platform and the opportunities it affords us.
In the meantime, I'm bringing a Fabulous Fun Friday project today. As we kicked off our private group this week, I talked about the old adage "April Showers Bring May Flowers" and asked everyone what inspires you to create a Spring or floral card/project? Today, I'm showcasing the first of my "Spring" inspired cards using the Tranquil Tulips hostess stamp set from the Annual Catalog. Very shortly, this sweet and wonderful stamp set is going to be gone! So if you haven't "earned" it yet on a qualifying order, I'd get that done yet this week! Next week the Retiring List comes out, and these items will be "while supplies last only." Let's take a peak at today's project!
Today's card design was inspired by one of my fellow Pals, Stesha Bloodhart. But as with any project that may catch my eye, I always see areas for "improvement" or changes that make it a "Wendy card" as my stampers call it!! LOL And of course, you can never leave off the pearls!! LOL
This card is all about the fussy cutting - but I don't mind so much. Stamp all your pieces, put your feet up in front of the TV with your favorite program, and snip away. Next week, I'll be doing a short Facebook live to talk about how to make "fussy cutting" something you don't need to dread. And shortly I'll be doing a "Class With Wendy" tutorial on this card so that we can make it together!! It's not that hard really!
One of the things I love about this design is the Lemon Lime Twist colorway and how fresh and springy it makes it look! I adore how well this color just seems to brighten every project and go with every color! Whoever came up with this specific green just did a fabulous job!! You'll note not only the matting in the background, but I created a scallop oval overlaid with Vellum to soften the coloring which is used as the backdrop for our Tulip bouquet. This also allows me to give some stabilization and pop the entire piece up with dimensionals on the front of the card. It is finished off with the wonderful 3/8" Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon.
Finally, this card can lend itself to so many wonderful occasions - Mother's Day, birthday, get well, thinking of you, and so much more! I added the sentiment today for but you can add any sentiment you want to the front of this card to finish it off. Pop on over to the DDS Distinctive Dabblers page and share your inspired Spring creations. We want to see what you've been up to 😉😉😉
Until Next Time . . .
