Good Morning Fellow Stampers !
Welcome to the 2nd Wednesday of April - time for the Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop this month! This month we're putting "families first" - and what a perfect time to get ready to celebrate Mom - don't you agree??
The Stampin’ Pretty Pals may also inspire you with family related projects like Father’s Day, Graduation, or Family Vacations. You may be just starting or, more than likely, you have arrived from our Fearless Leader's site, Mary Fish at Stampin' Pretty. In either case, never fear ~ you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along through all the participants today.
Now, are you ready to celebrate Mother's Day and Spring with me today?
Today's card design is inspired and CASE'd from a card I found on Pinterest by Linda B. I have to say - this is one fun and elegant card design. And I think it's perfect for that very special "Mom" in your life!!
This project features the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit, and is whipped together with elegance using window sheet, vellum, and plenty of love!
The ingeniousness of this card is the "half cut" card front on the card base, which is then layered with Vellum and Acetate Window Sheet to allow layering of these gorgeous blooms inbetween the layers show that they show both on the front and on the inside of the card when you open it.
Everything else on this card pretty much comes from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit, with a few odds and ends snagged from the January 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit, and the sentiment swiped from You're Inspiring stamp set.
The Vellum bloom cutouts from the kits are colored with Stampin' Blends. The way you get fabulous color is to color both sides of the cutout.
When the card is closed properly, you can also see a peak of the flowers on the inside of the card peaking through too - this picture isn't as good for that.
Voila - here is the inside of the card.
Here you can see how wonderful this technique is, allowing the front flowers to peak through, and the flowers layered between the vellum and window sheet.
I also tucked a leaf on the back side. You'll notice the Velvet Ribbon from the kit is wrapped complete around the card so that it is seamless (along with the washi tape).
Finally, a few additional cutouts were laid on the right-hand side of the inside of the card. Now write your sweet message and you're set to go!!
Don't wait to snap up this gorgeous Embellishment Kit with all the sweet little cutouts, ribbon, clips, and so much more!! It is retiring soon - and then it will be gone!!
Card Measurements:
Base: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score @ 4-1/4"; then trim 2-1/4" off the front fold
Acetate Window Sheet: 5-1/2" x 3"
Vellum: 5-1/2" x 3"
Colored Cardstock of choice: 2 pieces, 5-1/2" x 2-1/8"
Run SNAIL (or Fast Fuse) about a 1/4" from the front edge of the card base front flap - both front and back; attach the Window Sheet on the front and the Vellum on the back of the front flap so that they lines up with the back flap of the card and completes the card front back out to match the card back on the base. Do not add adhesive anywhere else. This will allow you to layer the flowers between the Vellum and the Window Sheet - and they should fall together fairly naturally without any other adhesive.
Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 when we all “Step It Up with Textures or Techniques.” Now it's time to hop along to the next person on our hop today (one of my very favorite Pals!!), Jennifer Michalski at Stamping Serenity.
