Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~~
Welcome to the Pals August 2018 Blog Hop. We love to "cut it out," so this month our creations feature our favorite “cuts” using punches, framelits and thinlits. Today I'm going to showcase layering with punches - so quick and easy!!
You may be starting the hop here or you may have arrived here from Lori Pinto at LollyPop Paper and Ink. Either way, you’ve come to the right place! Once you've completed your visit with me, you’ll find the full line-up below to help you move, or “hop,” along from Pal-to-Pal.
So, are you ready for a little "late Summer" inspiration and a quick and easy layering idea with punches? Here we go!!
I've been busily decorating my home for "late Summer / early Fall" this past week or so. All the patriotic decor has been put away for another year; and I've been pulling out my Sunflower decor, warm yellows, golds, and oranges - and preparing for the soon coming cooler evenings as Fall approaches. In some ways I have not been ready for the change that has come so quickly this year; in others, I really do love the Fall season. I have always loved a blue and yellow color combination; and last year I bought the prettiest blue and yellow Sunflower silk bouquet with burlap wrapping on it (in blue!!) to spice up my decor. I was thinking about this bouquet that is now on my dining room table as I thought about a card design for today's project.
I am so happy that Stampin' Up! carried forward our Painted Harvest stamp set from last year's Holiday Occasions Catalog. I think this set has been one of my top favorites since it was introduced.
The new Blueberry Bushel In Color could not be a better blue, really, for so many projects; here I paired it with So Saffron - interestingly, a color I don't reach for much, and works perfectly in this design!! I love it!!
I missing the countryside this Summer; I wasn't able to make it over the mountain to my friend's ranch this Summer. Sunflowers and country/rustic just go together, don't you think?
So these lovely blooms are stamped right onto a piece of the Wood Textures DSP; and matted with So Saffron on a Blueberry Bushel card front.
How perfect is that!!??!!
Now the quick and easy "pop" to this card. Layer the sentiment using a series of circle punches, and pop it with dimensionals, and you've put perfect dimension into this beautiful card.
This sentiment comes from the Wood Words stamp set - one that's getting missed I think - and the perfect "country" touch for my card.
The sentiment is also stamped directly onto the same designer paper, punched out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch; then framed with a So Saffron 1-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch; and finally finished off with a 1-1/2" Circle of Blueberry Bushel.
Punches are the pièce de résistance of cutting - they make life so quick and easy! As much as I love my Big Shot, when I'm in a hurry, I'll reach for a punch every time!!
I hope you've loved my Country Summertime card today - and now I'm ready to go back to finishing my late Summer decorating!! LOL - maybe you'll join me at my home soon for a cup of coffee, and a little blue and yellow inspiration.
Now it’s time to "hop along" and see what the rest of my Pals have chosen as their “favorite” pattern. Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Mark your calendars for September 12, 2018 for the next Pals Blog Hop. We’re looking forward to inspiring you with projects for the upcoming holidays and seasons including Autumn, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas. . . . Don’t miss the fun!!
Until Next Time . . . Puppy Hugs!
