Today, I'm going to showcase an idea with the gorgeous spray of flowers; and for Christmas
I think my most favorite part of the Stitched Seasons Framelits, are the 3 nested frames in the set - which do indeed have a gorgeous stitching around them. And what's really cool is there is stitching that stays with the piece you cut out; as well as stitching that stays behind on cardstock you cut the piece out of - which means you can create a beautiful opening for the front of a card and have that stitching still there.
Each of the cards above uses similar elements, but showcases them very differently.
This card is cut from Grapefruit Grove cardstock, and has a Basic Black mat background which gives a very elegant look to the card. It helps the rest of the color to really "pop".
I stamped this gorgeous spray of flowers in Grapefruit Grove, cut it out with the largest of the 3 Stitched framelits, and then carefully went back in, added my sentiment and did some "watercoloring" with the new Watercolor Pencils Ass't 2. I colored some of the Cajun Craze in the center of the flowers, then spread it with a little bit of water in my AquaPainter; and used the new Granny Apple Green on the leaves and did the same thing. Remember - light on the water use, both with this being Whisper White cardstock which doesn't play well with water, and the fact that the image is stamped with regular classic ink, not the StazOn ink. I do like the softening of the colors though, and how it kind of creats a very watercolored impressionistic look.
The piece is popped with dimensionals, and framed with a few leaf cutouts using the dies. I added some gorgeous Artisan Pearls in the center of each flower.
This card uses the same nested dies, but with a totally different look - of course, it's all about Christmas!
This card is cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock; and layered on the front with Old Olive and Very Vanilla.
The Very Vanilla piece was embossed with the Climbing Vine Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I used sponge daubers to light sponge Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler inks over the background. Quite pretty!!
The layers were wrapped with Cherry Cobbler stitched ribbon before being adhered to the card front.
This stamp set makes stamping the image so easy!! Cut the 2nd largest frame first, and then you'll see how these holly sprays fit right into the frame border perfectly!!
Color with your Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Stampin' Blends, and you have a gorgeous piece - really quick and easy!!
Framed by the larger die cut from Under the Mistletoe DSP, and popped with dimensionals. You'll see the same leaf spray cut with the dies from Gold Foil tucked in among the layered frames. And I finished it all off with some Glitter Enamel Dots and a cute bow.
