I've brewed up a little diddy for you in my black cauldron, as we bid farewell to fair October . . .

The Month is Amber,

Gold, and Brown,

Blue Ghosts of Smoke

Float through the Town.

 

Great V's of Geese

Honk Overhead,

And Maples turn

A Fiery Red!!

 

Frost Bites the Lawn.

The Stars are Slits,

In a Black Cat's Eye,

Before She Spits!

 

At last, Small Witches,

Goblins, Hags,

And Pirates Armed

with Paper Bags!!

 

Their Costumes Hinged

On Safety Pins,

Go Haunt a Night

Of Pumpkin Grins!!

 

Hahahahahahahahaha

 

 

 

 

 It's time to hand out the treats . . .

And it was Paper Pumpkin to the rescue!!

These adorable little treat bags were the September PP Kit - and these just whipped together easy peasy in no time flat!!  Although I like to find alternatives sometimes for our PP kits, this one I made up just the way it was . . . to be handed out to all my spooky co-workers today!!

 

I don't have all of them sitting here (some have already gone away at the time of this picture taking - LOL)

But the kit made up 24 (8 each of the 3 sets)

  

 

Filled with jelly beans and good old-fashioned spice gum drops . . .

I think they'll make the perfect little "trick or treat" at each co-worker's cubicle today!!

Terrific Tuesdays . . . A Blizzard Is Coming!

 Hello Fellow Stampers ~~

 

Happy Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday - LOL!!  It's really flying right by us, isn't it?  I had a "flurry" of a weekend, starting off with a mad-dash down to Florence for a surprise birthday party for Mike's sister; and ending with being elbow deep in cardstock prepping like mad for the Annual Christmas Stamp-a-Stack coming up this next weekend! Crazy times indeed!

 

As we turn the corner this week out of October, it is time to kick off the upcoming holiday season, and Christmas projects galore!!  I've been crazily working and designing in the Studio this weekend, and there are so many things I want to do, I don't know if I'll have enough time to do them all.  But I'll share what I can, and we'll play as much as possible before the bell tolls at midnight in December!!  Hang on, we're off to a wild ride indeed!

This card design features the largest of the snowflake dies in the Snowfall Thinlits Die set, cut from the new gorgeous White Velvet paper.

Set against a Black background, this card exudes elegance thru and thru.

I call it my Black Tie card!

 

I created a full Basic Black and Whisper White background layer; and then added a 2" x 4-1/2" inner layer to slightly offset.

This created some wonderful interest to the card.  I love how this just came together so easily! (one of those I thought up in the shower -- LOL)

The layers were wrapped with Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon before being adhered to the Basic Black card base (4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2")

With the snowflake popped on dimensionals, I added a Basic Black solid snowflake in the center (it exactly matches the center of the white snowflake), and embossed the "Joy" sentiment from the Snow Is Glistening stamp set in White emboss powder.  A few pearls, and this gorgeous card exudes elegance from across the room!

 

The inside of the card is as simply beautiful as the outside - all done with the Snow Is Glistening stamp set, Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White - seems appropriate!!

3-Way Friday ~~ 1 Design, 3 Alternatives

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

 Whooo Hooooo . . . T G I F!!!  I'm so glad this week is over!! Whew!  And the weekend is gonna be craaaaazzzzzy!!  Starting this afternoon.  Mike and I head for Florence, Colorado (a 2-1/2" hour drive) to celebrate one of his sisters' 60th Birthday - it's a surprise party!!  LOL  Should be fun; but it will be quite late tonight before we get home.  And then there's college football game tomorrow; and all sorts of things going on!!  Thank goodness we have beautiful late Fall weather going on right now!

 

Did everyone see that Starbucks released their 2018 Halloween Frappuccino drink today??

Mmmmmmmmmmm  -  this Witches Brew just sounds delish!!  LOL

 

 

 

We have our own Halloween fun today.  I am presenting to you the second and third installments today of my Baker's Box collection that I've been rolling out for the past week, showcasing our Cauldron Bubble suite.  I am so in love this adorable suite of products.  I have two boxes to add to the collection today - and they're just the cutest !!  A few frogs . . . and a kitty cat too!!

 

 

 

This box was spritzed with a mixture of 70% alcohol and lots of drops of Pumpkin Pie reinker - LOL

Seriously, however light or dark you want your coloring when you use a Stampin' Spritzer - the outcome totally depends on how many drops of Re-Inker you put into the mixture.  So experiment and see what you like the best.  And I actually spritzed this box twice - letting it dry inbetween.  [See Note below for tips and tricks on spritz coloring your baker's boxes.

Tip/Trick:  One of the tricks I have found with the Baker's Boxes - since they are a "shinier" surface on the outside, (not an absorbant cardstock feel) - Spray on as much of your color mixture as you would like, let it sit for just a minute or 2, and then take a piece of paper towel and start to wipe and move the color around on the surface of the box.  What I have found is if I let the color sit on the box for a few minutes, and then start to wipe it and move it around, it helps the color absorb into the paper, and I can also get some really cool "marbling" effects as well.  I smooths the color, and works it into the paper of the box better.

 

I actually created a "belly band" for this box.

Because this box is a little bit bigger than our other boxes . . .

Cut the strip 1-1/2" wide by 12" long; and a second piece 1-1/2" wide by 3" long.

Then overlap 1-3/8" and SNAIL the two pieces together.

Score at 3", 5-1/8", 9-1/2" and 11 3/4"

Then you should be able to wrap the band around the box, and SNAIL it together at the overlap in the back, and have a perfect Belly Band

Decorate from there!

We did this box for the Halloween class last Saturday - and the girls loved it!!

I adore the frog paper in the new Toil & Trouble DSP.

And this little frog stamped and colored with Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends goes right with his background.

This box was spritzed with a mixture of 70% alcohol and Granny Apple Green Re-inker.

Wednesday Highlight - Another Wonderful Halloween Box and Card Set!

Hmmm . . . It's been a crazy week already!!  We skipped a Monday blog post . . . because I simply took Sunday off!!  And that's the way it is!!  LOL  I didn't get out of my jammies the entire day; and I spent my time puttering with a fun sewing project instead.  I didn't touch anything that had to do with stamping, card making, or anything remotely related - LOL  I just took a break from it all!! 

And then yesterday we had a BIG day as Stampin' Up! kicked off it's 30th Birthday Celebration.  15% off select stamp sets is NEVER a sale to be missed.  Sorry if you didn't get in on the deal before it was gone!  Not to worry ~  I'm sure Stampin' Up! has more fun up its sleeves for this season!

 

Here's my fun sewing project . . .

 

I am having a grand time with this adorable Halloween placemat and coaster set.

 

 

 And since Halloween is like less than 10 days away, I thought I'd better get on it if I wanted to enjoy them yet this season!!  Yikes!  So they are all put together.  The coasters are all down - so now . . .

 

. . . it's just the "quilting" with the pretty sparkly and metallic threads on the Jack-o-Lantern placemats that I'm working on. And then we're done!!  Kind of fun!!

 

 

Another fun Halloween project today!!  I wanted to CASE the cute baker's box in the 2018 Holiday Occasions Catalog; at the same time, I've had an idea in my head to create a card to go with it. 

So today, we're having a focus highlight on this fun suite of products, and this cute set that I hope you'll agree is adorable!

 

This fabulous box, made using the new Baker's Boxes in the Holiday Occasions Catalog, is super fun to create!

I spritzed the box with a mixture of 70% alcohol and many many drops of Gorgeous Grape Re-inker (LOL)

After letting it dry a little, I took a paper towel and rubbed the remaining color around - it really came out cool looking.

The spider webs on this box are actually attached from the inside so they show through the window, which is a cool effect.

And I stamped these cute critters and colored them all with my Stampin' Blends - so fun!!

 

Here's a close-up of some of the fun details . . .

Silver Metallic Thread and Metallic Sequins.

 

I had a lot of fun designing the coordinating card.

I wanted to emulate the "round" center of the box to the card - and created this with the largest Layering Circles Framelit and some Vellum.

The spider webs are cut from Black Foil and attached in the center of the card before layering the Vellum circle over the top.

 

But the most fun for me on this card was creating the background layer.

I embossed the Gorgeous Grape cardstock with the Swirls & Curls Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Then I brushed Versamark light over the raised impression using a sponge;

and then I literally brushed Silver embossing powder on with a paint brush so I could achieve just a light silver embossed look to the background - it really looks cool!

 

The inside of the card is fun too.

Again, I sponged Versamark around the edges, and then dipped them in Silver Embossing Powder and heat setting.

Then I added some fun stamping - cuteness abounds!!

I told you!!  . . . LOL
