Hello Fellow Stampers ~
It's been a busy of cooking in preparation for Thanksgiving. It's actually my favorite time of year for cooking . . . and I'm looking forward to the "big feast" tomorrow!! My waistline probably not so much!! LOL
We've been busy in the Studio this week, and I'm excited to start sharing some of my creations! I have so many things I'd like to do and share, and I wonder if I'll have time to get to it all. We'll do our best!!
My focus this week is on the November Exclusive ~ Snowflake Showcase ~ This exclusive group of products is available ONLY during the month of November (or while supplies last)! That last snippet is important - indeed, one of these products has already gone done for the count ~ the White Velvet paper is gone, gone, gone! I sorta want to cry! Thank goodness I had gotten a nice little stash before this happened. Now I'll have to ration it!! LOL Ready to play? I have some great projects for you today!!
This is my first "Snowflake Showcase" this week. I hope to have another set of fun ideas by the end of the week.
There is so much you can do with this stamp set and die set - I'm loving playing with all kinds of ideas! And snowflakes are my "favorite" this time of year!!
I'm going to start with this fun design. It's somewhat of a CASE from a Stampin' Up! sample, with a few changes, and additions.
This card is a square card - 4-1/4" x 8-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".
I love making unusual-shaped cards once in awhile. It's nice to change things up a bit from the normal course of business.
The inset front panel has been stamped across the top with this "snow flurry" image in Versamark ink and then heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.
The additional "drops" across the front are a very cool technique - take a larger regular paint brush, dip it in your White Shimmer Paint - and flick it across the card front - just be careful not to "smear" your drops like I did -- LOL
The gorgeous white snowflake is cut from the White Velvet Paper with that largest die in the die set; a banner created from a strip of Copper Glimmer Paper; and finally the sentiment stamped in Real Red ink, heat embossed with Clear emboss powder and cut with the coordinating framelit that echos the snowflake center.
Some added extra pearls scattered across finish this pretty little card off!!
The inside of the card showcases one of the lovely sentiments from the stamp set, and more snowflake flurries all done in Real Red ink.
A "special" sized card, requires a specially made envelope to fit it.
Easy Peasy with the Envelope Punch Board.
I used some of my leftover stash of Real Red Envelope Paper - and heat embossed it with the images in White Emboss Powder to coordinate with the card.
The next featured design in this collection is created with Gray Granite cardstock
and is kept very clean and simple!
These gorgeous snowflake images are again stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with White Emboss Powder.
The sentiment was stamped first in Gray Granite Ink on the Gray Granite cardstock - a lovely neutral tone-on-tone.
The bow is the most fun to make -- and let me give you the "inside technique tip" on that one . . .
Carefully cut just the white edge off one side of a piece of Gray Granite 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon
Then pull as many strands as you'd like (keep them together as you pull)
Then tie them into a beautiful bow!!
Attach with a glue dot!
The inside of this card reflect the front ~
with the sentiment surrounded by snowflakes stamped in Gray Granite ink.
The final card design in today's showcase is definitely one of my favorites!
Balmy Blue is the featured color in this design - accented with the beautiful Galvanized Metallic Paper.
Yes, I chose the new Galvanized Metallic "matte" finish over our Silver Foil - I love the look!
The sentiment is heat embossed with Silver Emboss Powder.
For this card, I used another wonderful technique with the White Velvet Paper (boy! I hope you got some of this paper!!)
Using a sponge dauber, I gently applied Balmy Blue ink to a section of the White Velvet Paper (purposely not covering it all - wanting a slightly variegated look).
Then cut my snowflake out - this is so easy and the effect is gorgeous!! Use any color you like! 😉
A detailed snowflake cut from the Galvanized Metallic Paper to echo the middle of the larger snowflake again - and this time a mini silver brad to hold it all together.
The snowflake is popped with dimensionals over a swirl of Silver Metallic-Edged Satin Ribbon.
The inside was kept simple - no sentiment - just Silver Embossed snowflakes.
Now we're all set to write a personal message inside this card!!
A flurry of a showcase, don't you think!! LOL Stay tuned, we'll have more ideas near the end of the week. In the meantime . . . it's Thanksgiving Eve!! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!
Hugs,
Wendy & Sadie Ann!!
