Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
Whew! Time is flying by me, and I'm feeling behind again!! And here we are, the 2nd Wednesday of February already! Yup!! That means it's time for the Stampin' Pretty Pals monthly blog hop! So welcome to the Pals’ February blog hop. I am SO glad you’ve stopped in for a visit today, especially because it’s “Time to Sale-A-Brate!" To "sale-a-brate" the most wonderful time of the year at Stampin' Up!, our Pals have created projects using Sale-A-Bration items to inspire you.
You may be starting the hop here or you may have come from Sara Stuart at Sentiments by Sara. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move or “hop” along from Pal-to-Pal when you're done visiting with me. ;-)
Are you ready for some Sale-A-Bration fun today? I'm excited to share with you this "pop-up" or "pop-out" (either reference works) Gate Fold card. This easy fold is fun to make and I had a ball creating the outside and inside of this card, along with the fabulous belly band (a must to keep this card closed while it's on it's way to the special recipient).
Today's design is Chock Full of Sale-A-Bration goodies - and I LOVE all of them!! And then I snuck in just a smidge of some fun from the Spring Occasions Catalog.
Sale-A-Bration items featured on today's design are the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper, Organdy Ribbon (in Highland Heather), Part of My Story stamp set, Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheets, Butterfly Elements, and some brand new items you are going to just Adore!! The Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (available on Friday); and the brand new Sale-A-Bration "coordination" item - the Story Label Punch (available on March 1st). Whew! That's a lot of pretty wonderful products right there!! LOL
This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 4-1/4" x 11" ~~ then scored at 5-1/2", and in from each end at 2-3/4".
When you fold, you want to fold the center so that it will push out or "pop out" toward you when sitting on the table.
The panels are layered with Lemon Lime Twist, Highland Heather, and the beautiful Botanical Butterfly DSP, measuring as follows:
Lemon Lime Twist: 2-5/8" x 4-1/8"
Highland Heather: 2-1/2" x 4"
Botanical Butterfly DSP: 2-3/8" x 3-7/8"
The inside is even more fun than the outside!!
And it's this incredible NEW Country Floral Dynamic embossing folder that I just literally ran it through the Big Shot one time and knew I had fallen in love all over again!! O M G!!!
Have you ever seen anything this gorgeous?
Technique Tip: Remember to lightly spritz your cardstock with water before running it through the Big Shot with a Dynamic TIEF. This allows the fibers to "give" a little with such a deep impression, instead of tearing!
I used the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits dies to cut out a gorgeous array of butterflies from the Grapefruit Grove Foil. Then I just carefully snipped them apart (the die cuts out an array of 5 together), so I could use only the ones I wanted. Now they flutter across the Country Floral embossed background with the greatest of ease ;-)
Did you know that the Butterfly Duet Punch from the Spring Occasions Catalog matches up with the butterflies in several of the designs in the Botanical Butterfly DSP, allowing you to just punch them right out! - Easy Peasy! I love it!!
So I punched out a bunch of different butterflies, and picked and chose the ones I wanted to alternately pop up with dimensionals and lay flat with SNAIL on the inside of my card panels (and on the front too!).
Next, the neat trick of this fancy fold, is to "balance" something special on that fold you popped out. In this case, I chose to showcase a sentiment from the Part of My Story stamp set which has a brand new punch available on March 1st that coordinates with it - the Story Label Punch! Love it!!
Stamped in Highland Heather ink, and punched; with a coordinating punched piece offset behind it in Lemon Lime Twist. I attached it to the fold/crease with several glue dots to make sure it would stay in place!!
When the card is closed, it is held together with a pretty little belly band. I cut a piece of the DSP at 3/4" x 12"; and an underlaying piece of Lemon Lime Twist 1" x 11". Layered together, the DSP will close the gap in the back - no worries! Then I wrapped the belly band in a gorgeous piece of the Highland Heather Organdy Ribbon combo pack (don't worry -- this one will be back in early March!!) and finished off the whole thing with some pretty little wooden Butterfly Elements. Want to know how I got those wooden elements colored so nicely? Just "dip" them onto the surface of your ink pad; press in and get some good ink on them; and lift them back and lay them down to dry for a few minutes. I even added Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers after I attached them to the belly band!
And of course everything is finished off with Clear Wink of Stella and Pearls!! The perfect finishing touches ;-)
Remember, the new Sale-A-Bration releases are available beginning Friday; and the new "coordination" items that go with all your Sale-A-Bration goodies are available beginning March 1st! EARN all your Sale-A-Bration products with qualifying purchase(s) - learn more HERE.
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Pals. They are excited to show you what they’ve created! I love to read your comments, and do read them all. I'd love to read what you think of today's project!!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 13, 2019 when our Hoppin’ Pals share their “Spring Has Sprung” projects. Don’t miss the fun!
