Hello Fabulous Fellow Stampers ~
My goodness!! When was the last time we had a "Fabulous Friday Fun" post?? Sheesh!! It's so nice to have been designing and creating this week, and getting to share with you. Let's hope we can keep up the goodness . . . especially with Easter ahead of us, and the retirement of our beautiful Annual Catalog looming!!
Today I want to showcase a Sale-A-Bration stamp that I think may have gotten the short end of the stick this year -- and maybe even overlooked by some. Sometimes "single" stamps get the shaft -- LOL. And I think this may have been one of them!!
Lovely Lattice is a larger full stamp image with two smaller stamp images in the collection to compliment.
I started playing with this set by embossing it first in White Stampin' Emboss powder; and then in Silver.
The white is to the upper left; and the silver to the lower right.
Although I colored with Stampin' Blends exactly the same, look at what a difference the color of emboss powder makes to the image results.
I encourage you to play like this -- you learn so much; and experimentation is good!
So let's see what I did with these after I was done coloring - which was so much fun by the way!!!
These two cards are totally different from each other - and a lot of that was driven by the results of the embossing; and some of it was driven by what I had in mind that I wanted to do.
The images were colored with Balmy Blue, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, and just a touch of Lt. Pineapple Punch Stampin' Blends. I had the opportunity to practice my blending with these images and I had a ball!!
Both images were stamped, embossed and colored on Shimmery White cardstock - one of my very favorite cardstocks to use for special techniques!! I love the shimmer in the cardstock, and what it does for both watercoloring, and in this case alcohol coloring with the Stampin' Blends.
For the silver embossed image, I framed out the image with a frame created from Balmy Blue cardstock using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
Once I adhered the frame around my image, I wrapped it with a beautiful piece of Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon and tied a bow; and then popped the entire piece with dimensionals on a background of Whisper White attached to a Balmy Blue cardstock base. A few scattering of pearls in just the right places, and this card was set to go!!
The other card took considerable more time - because I fussy cut out the flower spray! Yes, you can do it!!! Don't be scared! LOL It just takes some time and patience. Be careful with those paper snips!! LOL
This card base is Thick Whisper White with an arrangement of 3-3/4" x 5" backgrounds in So Saffron and Petal Pink. The Petal Pink piece was embossed with the Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I cut an oval from Shimmery White cardstock with the largest scalloped oval in the Layering Ovals Framelits; then after stamping the sentiment from the Part of My Story stamp set in Petal Pink, very carefully attached my cut out flower spray around the one edge using glue dots and a little bit of SNAIL. What is left on the "overhang" out to the upper left has dimensionals along with the oval to pop this entire piece up on the card front.
Do you see the Vellum leaves tucked in behind for additional texture and interest?
This is an easy way to use Vellum in your designs - a technique I love!!
Color your Vellum with a Stampin' Blend (this one is Dk. Petal Pink) then punch out your pieces.
Attach them with glue dots where you want them.
Alcohol ink dries very quickly on Vellum making it a very easy technique versus other inks!!
Here's a sneak look at the inside of this card - where I attached a couple more of my Vellum leaves.
I absolutely adore how these two cards turned out. The pictures don't even begin to do them justice. I can see the Balmy Blue card for Mother's Day, Easter, or as a Sympathy card.
Both of today's stamp sets can be earned with a qualifying purchase -- each one for $50 - so a total $100 purchase gets you both stamp sets!!
Don't miss out -- time's almost up!!
