Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well . . . . it's Monday!!! And it's April!!! And it's April 1st no less!!! Teee heee heeeeee . . . Not a good day for April Fool's Day to land on I think!!
We made it through the weekend! We closed out the first quarter of 2019, AND Sale-A-Bration!! I just cannot believe it!! Craziness!
Now it is time to turn our minds and sights on Spring, AND the soon to be released Retiring Products List from Stampin' Up! What I term "the worst time of the year" -- LOL!! We'll spend a couple of weeks grieving the beautiful new products leaving us . . . and then we'll get all excited about the brand new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!!! So hard to believe, isn't it?? Stay right here -- I'll be keeping you posted on it all as it happens!!
In the meantime, we're turning our focus this week to Easter!! I have lots of fun goodies planned, I hope! So let's kick off today with a fun little project to hold those sweet little jelly beans or chocolate Easter eggs, in the perfect little holder all ready to go straight from Stampin' Up! We're going to once again play with the Sweet Cups -- and this time put a Spring and Easter twist to it all!! Join me?!?
And while we're at it -- we'll pull out the gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper with all its shimmer and glimmer as the fun Spring background to our critters from the Fable Friends stamp set in the Spring Occasions catalog!! What a great stamp set for some coloring fun!!
You may recall that I showcased these cute treat cups and how to cover them with paper in this Blog Post.
That post gives the details about how to cut your DSP to cover these adorable cups. Be sure to read all about it if you didn't previously!
A Tip here using the Share What You Love Spec DSP - this is a thicker paper than we usually have, and it doesn't "form" as well around curves. So just be careful - and if it seems to be "off" the bottom edge a little bit after you've overlapped and sealed it down - just use your Paper Snips to trim of the protruding edge.
I love these Fable Friends characters -- don't you?? LOL
Mr. Duck is colored with Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends.
Technique Tip: Double-stack Dimensionals on the back of your fussy cut image to help it stand "away" from the cup and allow the lid to slide on and off.
The top of the lid is so easy to decorate with the Layering Circles Framelits.
I pulled out the incredible Well Written framelits dies for this cute little "scrollwork" flower cutout and the even cuter as a button little bird.
The sentiment was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock and cut out with the smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
A few Share What You Love Artisan Pearls finish it all off!
Now pop those jelly beans inside and leave it for your favorite Easter Bunny !!
This version is just as cute!
A "garden" of flowers in the background are the perfect setting for Mr. Squirrel and his "poppy" colored daisy.
I didn't take the time . . . but I can envision a little grass cut edging around the bottom of this cup for Mr. Squirrel to stand in.
The top of this cute cup!
Now there's an easy peasy way to give Easter treats this month!
Don't miss those Sweet Cups in your Occasions Catalog!!
Don't forget that this gorgeous paper will be retiring soon - along with the 2017-2019 In Color collection. So be sure you have your collections and stash all put together today, before it sells out!!
Hugs, . . .
