Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Happy Thursday!! I'm trying to find some time to actually do some stamping in-between sorting, purging, packing, moving -- yikes! Almost all of my fabric in the house is now sitting in bins in one of Mike's son's room. Just awaiting the new Studio to come to life!!! Lots of things are down off the walls; LOTS of things have been sorted, priced and are currently sitting out ready for the Annual Studio Clean Out sale!!
Whew!! I do indeed need a moment to breath!
And in the meantime, my first new goodies from the soon coming NEW 2019-2020 Annual Catalog have arrived - I'm starting slow, so I won't be showcasing a lot just yet! But I am so excited to finally get my hands on the official new 2019-2021 In Color Collection, and have snuck a little bit of that into today's project.
From the new "home front" an update I can share - all the framing out is done; the electricians have about finished their work; and apparently I am going to have LOTS of good lighting in the new DDS Studio -- it's supposedly going to be so bright we're going to need shades -- LOL; that's along with the "Isthmus of Gibralter" comment regarding the new craft island! Men! LOL
And this week the plumber has been in working on moving the water/sewer lines in the basement floor for the new powder room -- what a mess!!! And of course, nothing goes as planned, so there has been some leaking issues, and other things that have had to be addressed!
Today I want to showcase a soon retiring stamp set from the Spring Occasions catalog that I just really was drawn to the moment I saw it; and have had absolutely NO time at all to play with since it arrived several months ago!! The Flowering Desert stamp set is a simple stamp set -- but carries a big punch in my opinion! I think you can do so much with this stamp set -- and it's just plain FUN!!
And I'm not going to CASE from the catalog today. Instead, I have created some cute little Memories & More Notecards, that measure 3-1/2" x 4-1/4". These come in a set with envelopes and are a wonderful way to make some cute fun cards in a hurry!!
Design Colorology . . .
Today we're going to combine a little bit the "soon retiring" (old), with a little bit of the "soon arriving" (new) for a fun combination of In Colors - the perfect chance to see how these wonderful colors work so well together.

Paper: Mat background pieces in Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, and Terracotta Tile (3-3/8" x 4-1/8"); Whisper White front focal layer (3-1/4" x 4")

"CASE-Out" Design Guide
1. Fold your Memories & More card bases, scored bump to the inside, and gently burnish with your bone folder.
2. Cut pieces for matting as noted above from Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, (and when you get it), Terracotta Tile (perfect for a SW theme)!!
3. Cut Whisper White pieces to SNAIL to your mat pieces as noted above. SNAIL together, and adhere to the front of your card bases.
4. Stamp varied cactus, ground cover, and sentiments as you wish using the Flowering Desert stamp set. Go to town here!! You can create all kind of crazy cacti, and flowers on them, etc. The fun little "spot" stamp that looks like teeny tiny feet all over the place is fun to add dimension. Note how I used the new Pretty Peacock for one of my cacti, and Tranquil Tide for another. Look how lovely these colors play together and how great this color combination is for a southwest themed card.
5. Tie a coordinating piece of baker's twine from the Nature's Twine collection around each card front, and use a few glue dots to hold in place on the left edge near the fold and tie a faux knot.
6. Add some corresponding NEW 2019-2021 In Color Faceted Dots - and you're all set!!!
