Whew !! Crazy times here at DDS Studios!!
I wanted to get back to blogging this week, and to update you on what all is happening! And it is a lot!!
So again, please bear with me! We are officially in the midst of the remodel at the new house (new to me - not to Mike - LOL) - demolition began a week ago, and as you can see from the pictures below, is pretty much complete! And although the contractor has been a little slow this week, work is beginning on the build out of the new walls on the studio side of the house! Yeah!
Here you can see that everything is gone that I showed you a week ago -- the built in bar, the walls, everything has been pulled out!
It's amazing to see it all wide open!
Here's the studio side -- you can see the wall in the pictures a week ago is gone!
I can hardly wait to show you what's going to be here in this space!!
Here's the view from across the other side of the room -- the inset in the concrete wall you see there has had all the wood shelving inside it removed since I took this picture. And this is the side where the studs and build-ins for the new walls and my custom shelving and drawers in that inset have begun.
The powder room will be put in just the right of that inset where the window is that you can just see in the picture -- it's going to be fabulous!!
We had a bit of a snafu regarding the flooring last week; but we picked out new replacement flooring last Thursday, and I'm just going to say I am MUCH happier with our new choice, and it is going to be incredible!!! Hang tight -- the Studio here at my place has started to be sorted, purged and packed up. I have touched almost every piece of fabric I own since Sunday afternoon - whew!! I won't even tell you how much I purged; and how much I still have!!! LOL Most of that is already at Mike's now, stacked in bins awaiting its new home!! In the meantime, I still have all my supplies in place, so I hope to get back to some designing and blogging! It is so crazy around here right now!!
