Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Oh my goodness!! What a flurry the past week and a half has been! We had so much fun in Las Vegas last week! A very much needed vacation and precious time together. And now we're back full throttle, trying to tie up loose ends on the remodel of the "lower level", and working through the final details for the wedding in September! It's all very exciting -- LOL
The designer informed us yesterday that my new "change order" drawers should be here by early/mid-August. And the missing "tank" to the toilet in the powder room should be on its way as well. I'm hoping the stools for the island in the Studio will be here soon too!! Which means, I should shortly be able to share a final tour of the new DDS Studios, and start getting back in full gear here soon!! I'm very excited! 😍
We're back to our Christmas In July series -- yikes!! July is almost over; so we may carry it over into August -- LOL! This really is precipitous because all the Demonstrators begin their Pre-Order of the new 2019 Holiday Catalog on Thursday -- and Oh My!! It is a truly beautiful Holiday Catalog this year!! I am so excited!!!
So today's Christmas project (card) is inspired by the unusual color combinations of the Noble Peacock Suite and the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper (we are using Pretty Peacock and Old Olive combinations today!). We have paired with a Silver pop to create a truly special holiday feel to this card.
The featured stamp set in today's project is the Lots of Cheer stamp set - brand new in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. This cute set lends itself beautifully to coloring - with whatever medium is your coloring tool of choice! Today I chose our beautiful Stampin' Blends; a quick and easy coloring tool that gives you the beautiful blending and shading effects of alcohol markers.
The card base to this card is cut 11" x 4-1/4" (scored at 5-1/2") from Pretty Peacock cardstock.
I then cut a piece of Silver Foil using the largest of the Stitched Rectangle Dies; then I measured both my pieces of Noble Peacock SDSP to 5" x 3-5/8" - then cut them on the diagonal and "pieced" them back together on the Silver Foil piece, giving the stitched edge a chance to peak and give a nice border all the way around.
Finally, I wrapped the layers with 3/8" Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon across the diagonal seam, before attaching it to the front of the card base.
The cute "bauble" ornament is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Versamark and embossed with Silver embossing powder. I then framed and cut out the image with the Layering Ovals Dies, and a scalloped oval with the same dies from Silver Foil to create a nice "frame" around the edge.
Then I colored my bauble with Pretty Peacock and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. With the Silver emboss powder creating your design "edges" it makes it so easy to color in. I also added some shimmer with Clear Wink of Stella.
The finished "bauble" ornament is popped with dimensionals on the front of the card along with the which I also stamped in Versamark and embossed with Silver Emboss Powder. Then I found the perfect die to cut it out with the Stitched Nested Label Die set.
The inside of this card was completed with a piece of Old Olive Noble Peacock Foil Sheet(s), and Whisper White cardstock.
I offset the sentiment with a leftover diagonal piece from the front design; and stamped the sentiment and punched it out with the Everyday Label Punch just to make it interesting on the inside (that's Pretty Peacock classic ink by the way 😉).
Finally a bow and some Noble Peacock Rhinestones finish off this simple card and give it a little pizzazz.
I hope you enjoyed this next installment of Christmas In July!! I love doing something different, instead of the traditional green and red all the time!! Have a great day / evening !!!
Hugs, . . .
