Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
Hard to believe it's a Monday again already -- and that we're halfway through July!! Sheesh!! Even worse - the year is more than half over!! 163 Days until Christmas -- think about that one!!! LOL
We continue to work through sorting, purging and unpacking around here. Sent another big load of stuff to the charity yesterday afternoon. And a nice couple came and bought my cute little corner IKEA desk that I had at the townhome. I feel like it's getting a good home!! ๐
Today, at 3:00 this afternoon, I sign away my townhome to a new owner ~~ on Saturday I walked the place alone for the final time, took a bunch of pictures, and cried a few tears with Mike. It will be a little bit sad to see my home of nearly 15 years for the last time today as I do the final walk-thru with the buyer. I'm telling myself that it's on to a new chapter, right?! ๐ No worries everyone! I just have to go through the "grieving" phase as my dear friend told me; it's a loss of it's own kind. Everything will look better tomorrow ~ and every day that goes by I'm feeling a little more settled in here.
Today we're going to have a little bit of simple fun that just kind of "happened" yesterday morning. Don't you love it when that happens?! ๐ I've had this little memo book on my desk for the past week or so. I keep some little notes and lists in it for myself; stuff I'm tracking, like buckets lists in a way. But I hated the silly "grocery store" cover on it. You know what I'm talking about ~ the front of these pads that has the marketing and "fake" lines on it - "Memo Notepad" (this one was in a dull aqua blue). I kept wondering all week where I wanted to put this notepad, and yesterday morning I was looking at my little organizer on the shelf, but thinking I didn't want this "ugly" thing showing -- LOL. And then it was like a light bulb went off in my head -- what's your problem Wendy; you have an entire room of craft products to decorate this book and make it fun and a showpiece! So that's exactly what I did - using some of my favorite new designer paper, and lots of little doo-dads.
I covered the front of this little memo pad with a piece of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper - this paper is so gorgeous, I've been having trouble cutting it; mostly I just piece through it and "pet" it -- LOL ๐คฃ This piece covers from the soft aqua blue binding on the pad to the edges. Then I put the Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Linen Ribbon wrapped around the binding edge of the pad. It was perfect.
Then I realized that I had all these leftover pieces lying by my work area from previous projects.
Perfect!
Use them up right here!
And I just received the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape in the mail, so I put a strip of the vintage tape first, and then built my centerpiece from there.
A leftover Stitched Nested Label; a leftover Stitched Shape Oval; and leftover Detailed Peacock leaf sprigs.
Don't you love when you can use up some "scraps" for something useful?
The sentiment was stamped from the Crafting Forever stamp set in Highland Heather ink, and cut with a Layering Circles Die.
The centerpiece is popped with dimensionals.
What I love is playing with all the new little embellishments on this project, whether it was the new washi tape, or these sweet little Bird Ballad Trinkets.
Tied with some Linen Thread to the pretty bow, I stabilized the bottom trinket with a glue dot and left the vintage key to hang loose.
I finished everything off with some glittering Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
It's a simple and fun solution - and now I have the prettiest little memo pad book in the world!! LOL
You can do this with any notepad or notebook that you have lying around. Then you can show off your handiwork to all your friends!!
๐๐๐
Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!! It's going to be a busy and a HOT week!!
give this easy project a try!
Hugs, . . .
