Hello Fabulous Fellow Stampers ~
I can't believe it's Friday again already!! Yikes!! Somehow I got through the root canal fun the other day. I'm still healing (things are pretty sore), but I think overall I'm feeling better. Hoping this will be the end of the tooth thing this year!!
And it's a working Friday unfortunately! Sigh. So off to work I go!! But before I do, I just HAVE to leave you with a fabulous and "udderly" wonderful project to end our week together!! And hopefully fill you with some creative fun and ideas to inspire your weekend ahead!!
Squuuueeeeeeaaaaaallllllllll!!!
I'm sure that was the sound you heard way back in May when I first saw this brand new set in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!
I'm a HUGE lover of anything cows, and so I was literally "over the moon" when I saw the new Over the Moon stamp set.
So how is it that it took me until August to ink it up??
Well, if any of you have been following my life for the past six months ~~ you probably have that one figured out!! LOL
By the Way ~~ it is pure heaven to finally be somewhat settled back into a new work space and be able to create again -- just a side note!!
Today I have a set of 3 cards created with the Over the Moon stamp set - and several others mixed in - for an "udderly moovelous" project that you'll want to make yourself -- I hope!! LOL 😉
Let's take a closer look at each card -- some elements are the same across each project; and others are specific to the theme of the specific card.
All my cards today feature the 2018-2020 In Color collection - I thought the bright "primary" colors of this collection were perfect for my bovine country cards -- LOL
I'm going to start with "Daisy" (that's what I named this cow - LOL), and step through some specifics here that carry forward to each of the next cards as well.
First, these card bases are cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock. And here's the little trick for today's fun card front ~~
Cut your cardstock as you normally would - 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"; then put the card front back in the trimmer and trim at 2-1/8" (half of 4-1/4"). This leaves you a flap for your card front of 2-1/8".
Now I used the sweet little scallop edge in the Budding Blooms Dies set to cut the edge of that flap on the front of each of these cards. How fabulous is that!!
Now I stamped the front flap - and you may be wondering how I got the perfect "cow splotches" for my black and white flaps -- I'll show you!
That's the Love What You Do stamp set -- and in there are two little "splotch" images that are just perfect for cow spots -- LOL. Stamp them in Memento Tuxedo Black in a random pattern on the front flap, and you're all set to go! By the way -- this idea can be found all over Pinterest if you're wondering!
Next - I created a mat and overlay for the "inside" of the card that you see when the card front flap is in "closed" position. The background mat is 2-1/2" x 5-3/8"; and the DSP overlay is 2-3/8" x 5-1/4".
No the secret to this fun card are the Ovals (the largest straight oval in the Layering Ovals set) - and I'll show you why in just a second - because, yes, there are two!
This is the front of the card oval - I stamped "Daisy" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used my Stampin' Blends to create some fun color (with a little stampin' write marker where necessary - like the center of the flower).
I used the Medium Daisy Punch to create a 3-layered daisy and popped it with dimensionals on the front. Be careful when you attach your oval - you are ONLY attaching just the far left curve/side to the front flap. The rest hangs out and over the under layer.
The second oval is stamped with a sentiment from the stamp set - and then I used these sweet daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set - stamped in Pineapple Punch ink.
Then this oval is SNAIL'd to the "back side" (inside of the flap) of the front oval.
And voila!! You have the inside of your card -- how cute is that!!
Just enough space to write a little note to the recipient!
This is "Palmer" -- LOL. "Palmer" is a dreamer - a day dreamer. He doesn't get very much done in a days' time!! LOL
He is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink; the little grass spikes are stamped in Call Me Clover ink.
And of course, some fun coloring with Stampin' Blends.
I cut an additional Layering Oval in the largest scallop in the set in Pineapple Punch and framed our sweet daydreamer.
Then I added a little moon and stars (just felt right) with the Twinkle Builder Punch.
Here's the inside of this card - the half moon image is from the Over the Moon stamp set. You'll find most of today's fun sentiments and images from that set.
I think our last card today may be my favorite!
This is "Henrietta" -- 😊
She's a party cow for sure!! And she's here to celebrate a birthday.
Those balloons are from the Ride with Me stamp set -- and were perfect for this card.
I cut out the bunch up to the left using the Truck Ride Dies - and those are popped with dimensionals.
And the inside oval is fabulous I think!!
Can you see all the Wink of Stella on those balloons?
Fabulous!!
All of today's cards were finished off with Wink of Stella in just the right places, and the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots which are the 2018-2020 In Color matched embellishments.
I hope you udderly adore my moovelous card project today!! LOL
And that you smile the rest of your Friday!
Hugs, . . .
