Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Whew! Kind of a busy weekend. I'm continuing to forge through "catch up" projects here at home and in the new Studio area. Things continue to move forward, and it's exciting to see things starting to come together a little bit more each day.
I'm eagerly awaiting the change out of the drawers we asked the designer for. They are supposed to be here sometime this week; then it's just a matter of getting the contractor scheduled back into work on installing those.
And my stools for the center work island!! I hope those will show up soon!! Once those are here, and I can do the final sort and unpacking with the new drawers, I'll finally be able to start up classes again; and that will be exciting!!
The only other thing we're waiting on then is my poor little powder room that feels like it's been left in the dust 😕 LOL We are still awaiting the tank to the toilet. We've been told it has shipped; so as soon as it gets here the plumber will be in to install the entire bathroom all at once. That will be exciting!!
Last week we finished out a little bit of "Christmas In July" fun. This week it's time to celebrate the last month of Summer, and really a fabulous time of year for me. I adore all the harvest goodies coming into the Farmer's Market this time of year; and for me, Sunflowers epitomize late Summer! I love the bright sunshiney happiness of Sunflowers. And so this week we're going to celebrate the Sunflower and showcase some fun with some of our different sets to help you achieve some fun projects.
Today's card features the Botanical Bliss stamp set and coordinating Botanical Tags Dies.
This is a set that carried forward to our new Annual Catalog, and I know for a fact I have not paid nearly enough attention to it. So let's make a card today with this cute set . . . and then maybe we'll tackle a cute little tag with it later this week!!
Making these cute sunflowers isn't particularly difficult, just a little time consuming.
Our wonderful Annual Catalog gives you a tip on how to cut these cute sunflowers out of your "tag" die - the pieces have all been supplied in your die collection.
Simply cut your botanical tag die (the one with the flower obviously -- LOL);
Then place the outline die on the opposite side where the flower is still attached and cut it out with your die cutting machine.
Super Easy!!
I cut three flowers from Crushed Curry; then three more flowers from Soft Suede cardstocks.
Then I just snipped the center circle out of the Soft Suede flowers with my paper snips - again, super easy!!
I glued the Soft Suede centers over the Crushed Curry flower centers using Fine-Tip Glue.
The smaller flowers were stamped twice also on Shimmery White cardstock; first with Crushed Curry ink; then with Soft Suede.
I fussy cut the Crushed Curry flowers;; then I punched out the Soft Suede "centers" of the other flowers with the 3/4" Circle Punch (retired); and then carefully trimmed off the additional edge that was left by the punch so that it would all line up and look nice when I glued them on the Crushed Curry flower centers.
The layering of this card was really fun!
The card base is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".
The Champagne Foil mat background is cut 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".
Then the Old Olive overlay is cut 5-1/2" x 3-1/4".
Finally I cut a piece of Shimmery White cardstock with the largest of the Stitched Nested Labels (love these!!)
I then took some Crushed Curry ink with my Aqua Painter and spread it in circular motions on the Shimmery White label to create "areas" for background to my sunflowers.
Then I arranged my sunflowers and glued them in place with Fine-Tip glue. Notice how I purposely allowed them to overhang the label.
I attached Mossy Meadow Linen Thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack on the back of the label and then popped it on the card front with dimensionals.
Finally I layered in leaf sprigs cut with the Botanical Tags Thinlets using glue dots, and my stamped "sunflowers" with dimensionals.
The sentiment was die cut with this gorgeous label from the Doily Wishes die set - it was perfect! And popped with dimensionals across the center.
The whole masterpiece is finished off with Clear Wink of Stella on the Sunflower centers; and the Gold Designer Elements which were just the perfect finishing touch both scattered across the card and in the centers of the flowers,
I kept the inside simple with plenty of space to write a note.
I love how this turned out!! I hope you do too!! I love to read your comments and do appreciate every one of them! I'd love for you to leave me a comment today! 😘
Hugs, . . .
