Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Happy Monday to all!! My goodness. We had somewhat of a busy weekend. We spent a day assisting Mike's mother with her move into Assisted Living. I've promised to help her sort out her quilting studio/room; and get her reset up in her new apartment. I'm anxious she feel comfortable and like she can keep on being creative. So we'll be going back down several times over the next coming weeks as we help her settle in.
And then we spent a busy morning yesterday cleaning up the garden and flower boxes/pots from the unexpected deep freeze and 6" of snow we had last week. Yikes! It sure feels like Fall with Winter knocking at the door all of a sudden.
And for Colorado, so it is!! It may seem we had our first snowfall a little early; but it is actually not all that unusual. And it has made me think of Halloween right around the corner, which is when we often get the first snow around here! I think it will be a brisk and chilly Halloween this year. And so . . . we will be preparing for spooky fun these next days both in the Studio and on the blog! We have some wonderful Halloween products this year; and I've so been looking forward to playing!! I'm actually very excited about some of these projects!
How many of you realized that we have a new "curvy keepsake box" in the house!!?? The original curvy keepsake box was very popular and there were so many wonderful uses and ideas for that product. This year's offering is a "miniature" version of the original; and is beyond adorable! The nice thing about this "mini" version, is that it cuts all in one piece. The original was cut in two pieces and had to be adhered together on the bottom.
Today's boxes are cut, one from a piece of the Monster Bash DSP, and the other from a piece of Basic Black cardstock that has been embossed and "antiqued." Let's take a closer look 😉
My first cutie Mini Curvy Keepsake Box (see page 21 of your Holiday Occasions Catalog to order this die set & stamp bundle), is cut from the spiderweb design paper in the Monster Bash DSP. So easy and simple since it all cuts out in one piece!! Fold on the score lines (be gentle!!), curve each section with your finger and bone folder, and close together by sliding the "handles" through the slots.
The tag for both of these cutie patooties is created using the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set and Ornate Frames Dies. By stamping the image on Very Vanilla cardstock and cutting it out with the tag in the die set; then use the small ornate label and cut a piece of Monster Bash DSP to sit in the background behind the tag. On this rendition, I added a bird from the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes; and several of the gray and black dots.
This keepsake box was cut from Basic Black cardstock, then embossed with the Stylish Scroll embossing folder. I then rubbed the new Delicata Silvery Shimmer Ink pad across the raised embossing to distress and "antique" the box.
Tags have been tied to the finished boxes with Cajun Craze linen thread; and 3/8" Basic Black scalloped Edge Ribbon.
Now fill these cuties with some Hershey Kisses, and hand them to your favorite spooky friend!!
Hee hee . . . 🧛♀️💀👻
We're going to be playing more in the days ahead; so check back soon !!!
Hugs, . . .
