Well, my goodness!! It's been a looooooonnnggg time since we had a CASE-Out Thursdays post. In fact, it's been a loooooooonnnngggg time since I've really been in the Studio just designing and playing.
So I'll admit a little secret to everyone! Other than the Annual Christmas Stamp-a-Stack I had to plan for the other week; I just haven't been able to get in the creative mood -- I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with me!!! LOL
Or maybe it's just that I'm finding running a new household, caring for a husband, and keeping up with my job and all these new responsibilities a little overwhelming!! LOL 😉
I do have to say that I've been perusing my online "inspiriation" go-to's lately, and I'm starting to find a little creative mojo again!! Starting with today . . . We're not actually CASEing the Stampin' Up! catalog today. Today I'm running with a sample I saw in one of my private Facebook groups that really inspired me. I saved it to my phone -- sigh. And I've been through the whole old phone dying; buying a new phone thing in the past 5 days. Oh well -- anyway, . . . let's see if we can inspire all of you too!!!
Today's design crosses a Christmas stamp set in the Holiday Occasions catalog with a number of Fall-inspired/Thanksgiving-style sets from both the Holiday and Annual catalogs, to create this beautiful, elegant vintage-style card. And you know me ~~ if it feels vintage and ooozes classy elegance, I'm all over it!! LOL
I also think there a number of stamp sets in the new catalog that are getting "lost in the fray" so to speak. There is so much excitement about certain sets throughout the catalog that have gotten so much attention, that we miss the "quieter" sets that have so much to offer and so much potential!
Frosted Foliage is one of these sets in my opinion. I think it is getting overlooked because it is a simpler set that lends more to sentiments than fun "cutout" images.
Today I want to showcase one of the images in this set, combined with other images and sentiments from several other stamp sets to create a truly beautiful project!!

"CASE-Out" Design Guide
1. Score the 11" x 4-1/4" Thick Very Vanilla cardstock base at 5-1/2", and gently fold and burnish with your bone folder. Reminder: The "raised bump" of your score line goes to the inside to create that beautiful professional fold.
2. Stamp the 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla cardstock with the "words" image from the Very Versailles stamp set using Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic ink - varied across the background. Stamp the wheat stock from the Gather Together stamp set using the same ink inbetween the stamped word images. Let the ink dry; then overstamp the berry branch image from the Frosted Foliage stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Color the berries with Real Red Light & Dark Stampin' Blends; add dimension with a white gel pen.
3. Adhere the finished Very Vanilla background piece to the 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" Gold Foil mat piece using SNAIL. Wrap the finished layers with a piece of Real Red 1" Ruched Ribbon ~ just slightly below the halfway point; then attach the wrapped layers to the card base front using SNAIL.
4. Stamp the "Simply Thankful" sentiment from the Country Home stamp set using Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. Add the berry branch image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink around the sentiment; color the same as the background images. Then cut the sentiment out with the largest of the Stitched Shapes ovals dies.
5. Cut the largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals dies from Gold Foil. Layer behind the cut out sentiment oval using SNAIL. Using dimensionals, pop the finished sentiment piece to the front of the card base front so that it sits just slightly "high" on the ribbon; and to the right-hand side of the card (leaving room for the bow on the left).
6. Cut the detailed leaf from the Seasonal Layers Dies from a piece of Gold Foil, Mango Melody, and Terracotta Tile; cut the leaf sprigs from the Frosted Frames dies from Vellum. Using glue dots, layer them in behind the sentiment oval.
7. Tie a lovely big bow from the Real Red 1" Ruched Ribbon and attach it to the side of the sentiment using glue dots.
8. Finish off with a scattering of the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
*Note: For an added touch of elegance, try sponge daubing the Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic ink around the edges of your Very Vanilla pieces to created a "gilded" look before adhering them to the card.
I'm hoping you feel inspired and ready to do some crafting. This card feels both Fall and "holidayish" to me all at the same time. I'll be popping in tomorrow with some quick inspiration; so check back in!!
Hugs, . . .
