Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
I can't believe that it is already the 2nd Wednesday in December!! Are you ready for Christmas yet??
Time to celebrate with the Stampin' Pretty Pals!! We’re so glad you’re here because we made some great projects for our "Retirement Fun Fold Party" – showcasing our favorite products from the Holiday Catalog that will be leaving us forever. You may be starting the hop here or coming you may be coming from Tricia Chuba at ButterDish Designs. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. When you're done perusing today's project, you’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move or “hop” along your way from Pal-to-Pal.
This Interlocking Gatefold card features our soon retiring Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper; and the Free Skate Bundle.
All of which I have not had nearly enough time to touch and play with!! yikes 😎
Create a standard gatefold card by cutting your Whisper White cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"; but score in from each side (end) @ 2-1/2".
I covered my front panels with layers of Silver Foil and the "snowy" pool party paper from the designer paper set (so pretty!)
Then I used the Layering Ovals Dies to create the "interlock" for the front.
It's about attaching the Oval Frame to the left side of the card only - just those far outer edges; because your "solid" oval is attached to the right side of the card front ONLY - and should slide in under the oval frame on the left. Think of it this way ~~ The oval frame is positioned in the center of the closed card and the left side only is adhered to the left side panel of the card. The oval is positioned into the frame and then adhered to the right side panel only.
I cut the detailed skate die from Silver Foil and attached its edges so it sat across the open Oval frame on the front. And I stamped my "warmest winter wishes" on the oval to peek through underneath and it's the first thing you see when you start to open the card. By the way -- the right-hand oval was embossed with the Subtle embossing folder - one of my very favorite embossing folders!!
The inside is layered with Pool Party, Silver Foil, and Whisper White which is decorated and stamped with sentiments and images from the stamp set. And I cut Silver and Pool Party "bows" with the die and layered them on each inside panel.
So pretty - and an easy way to finish off this card without taking a lot of time!
Use those glue dots everyone!! 😉😉
I snuck in some Silver/Pool Party twine from last year (I love my stash -- LOL), and "laced" up my skate before I attached it.
And I finished everything off with a few scattered Clear Epoxy Droplets.
My honey stopped by to see what I was doing when I was preparing my blog post and I showed him my creation, and he said "that's really pretty!" -- WOW! Maybe I'll get him hooked yet!! LOL
Be sure to take advantage of the Free Shipping Event - Today ONLY!! - And get your Let It Snow Specialty DSP and Free Skate Bundle before they're gone, gone, gone!!
