Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well, that was a short weekend!!! LOL And no, we do NOT get a "holiday" for Martin Luther King Day here at Lockheed Martin. It's back to work for the "slaves." LOL Thankfully it's a "short" week this week; so that will help.
I did have a fairly "quiet" weekend though; with lots of Studio time and I did enjoy some time to just "play" and create. I've got so many ideas I'm trying to create; and there just isn't enough time!!
Today we're going to kick off our Valentine fun for 2020; and we're going to do it in style!! I have a card and treat cup set for you, that uses all the luscious yummy new Valentine products from our 2020 Spring Mini! I'm so excited to share this "blingy" set with you ~~ it's right up my alley!!
Today's card is a "simple" fun fold card; it's standard flip fold that we go to often. As you can see in today's design, however, it can pack a lot of punch!!
I've been waiting to showcase this particular paper from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. This package of DSP is FULL of gorgeous luscious foil accents. This particular paper is just so pretty with the little pink foil hearts lined up across it. Although our main colors in this set of paper are Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, and Whisper White; this particular paper from the set looks better against Lovely Lipstick ~~ and so the card base for this card is cut 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" from Lovely Lipstick cardstock.
Then score as normal at 4-1/4"; flip the card base over and score at 2-1/8" (on the left side section). By flipping before the second score line, you ensure you get the "bump" of the score line folded to the inside for that lovely professional crease.
I've matted both the front flap and the inside back of the card with Blushing Bride cardstock (front flap is 2" x 5-3/8"; back inside is 4-1/8" x 5-3/8") Then I cut DSP for the front flap at 1-7/8" x 5-1/4; and the strip for the back inside is 3/4" x 5-1/8". BUT ~~ you must have a piece of Whisper White for the back inside that is 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" FIRST, before you can attach the DSP strip.
And then I used a coordinating design from the DSP pack for the inside left panel -- cut 2" x 5-3/8". Note that I did not "mat" the inside panel - it just looked better without it in this case.
Then I really had some fun!!
I used the largest Stitched Shape Circle Die to create the background for the focal point heart.
Then it's a little bit of fun with the new Heart Doilies - first a Flirty Flamingo heart; then a Real Red heart with the scalloped edge fussy cut off. Layer that over the Flirty Flamingo heart so it lines up correctly. That's how I got the pink scalloped edge for this look.
Then, using the straight-edged Heart Punch, I punched out this gorgeous heart from another piece of DSP from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper. The hearts and the punch are coordinated to line up and give you perfect layering options.
Finally -- I pulled out the new From My Heart Faceted Gems, and went to town. The picture does NOT do this justice; you should see these gems in the light. It's like looking at a beautifully embellished wedding gown -- LOL!!
First, I laid out around the outside edge (7 on each curve of the heart); and then I added over the "dots" in the design. Use Fine-Tip Glue for this, and the wonderful Take Your Pick Tool, to pick up and place these fabulous "gemstones."
Then the layered hearts are popped with dimensionals on the circle; then use Multi-Purpose Glue on just the left side of your circle and attach it to the folded flap.
Here you can see how that looks when you open your card. I just love this fun fold!!
And hidden behind that flip fold is our sentiment heart; isn't this fun when you open up the card??
I used another Flirty Flamingo Heart Doily here.
Punched out a Lovely Lipstick scalloped heart -- LOVE these punches!!
And then stamped this sweet little heart/sentiment from the Heartfelt stamp set in Flirty Flamingo classic ink.
Then these are layered together and SNAIL'd to the inside of the card - centered and so it's hidden behind the front circle/flap.
And you can see I added some wonderful "gemstones" here as well.
You can't have a fun card without something to go with it.
And these incredible Heart Foil Tins are perfect for a sweet treat -- AND did you know that you can even bake in these?? Make some wonderful chocolate heart-shaped cupcakes!!
For the top of this lid on this tin I took one of the doilies and flipped it so you see the white backside; then I trimmed a Flirty Flamingo doily in the same fashion as I did above for the card; layered it to the doily below it so the white scallop trim shows; punched another pretty heart from the DSP; and added my gemstones in the same way as the card design.
The lid is nice and "deep" so you can get lots into your tin - I wrapped the lid around the outside edge with Real Red 3/8" Double-Stitched Satin Ribbon (use glue dots around the edge to hold your ribbon in place.
And then I stamped the same sentiment and punched it out and attached it on the underside inside the lid, so that when you take the lid off, there's a fun surprise message!!! 😉😉
I am really loving the new From My Heart Suite!! There are so many options and so many fun things we can do - and I look forward to sharing more with you in the next days!! I'm also going to "remind" everyone of the wonderful Valentine products hanging out in the Annual Catalog too!! (heehee)
Happy creating everyone!!
