Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
We've arrived at the 2nd Wednesday of February -- in 2020!! My Goodness!! Something tells me this year is gonna fly right by us!
Time to celebrate the Month of Love with the Stampin' Pretty Pals and our "Art From the Heart" creations!! We’re so glad you’re here!! You may be starting the hop here or you may be hopping from my fabulous Upline Mary Fish at Stampin’ Pretty. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. When you're done perusing today's project, you’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move or “hop” along your way from Pal-to-Pal.
I think some of the most difficult cards to design can be the "masculine" card for most any occasions.
So today I'm showcasing some fun "masculine" Valentine cards and showcasing some "unconventional" Valentine colors - because, after all . . . Valentine's don't always HAVE to be red, pink and white, right?!? LOL
I'm going to start with today's "Fun Fold" card - a "Bend Open Pocket Card" - perfect for that Starbuck's Gift Card!! 😉😉
I'm showcasing this card on a Gray Granite card base, with the "pop color" being Old Olive (the photo shows the green color brighter than it actually is - the grays and "dull" green are really nice together).
Then I chose this gray argyle pattern from the Country Club Designer Series Paper for that "masculine" (not frilly background).
I chose this image from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set, stamped in Versamark ink on Whisper White cardstock, embossed with Shimmer Black Embossing Powder, and then very carefully fussy cut. My sweet couple are popped with mini-dimensionals on a Perennial Essence Vellum heart (cut using the Stitched Be Mine Dies),that was embossed with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder. I cut the same heart from Old Olive cardstock, and layered the vellum heart over it to give it stability; and a Gray Granite cardstock heart for the offset layer.
The sentiment is also from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set; punched with the label punch you will find in the Darling Label Punch Box.
The "Bend-Open" card is called that because you gently "bend" the right side so the left tucks under the popped elements (as you can see here). And you open the card the same way.
When you open the card, the right panel stays as part of the "inside" display; and the left hand side has been folded and adhere to create a "pocket" for your gift card.
Kind of cool!!! Kind of love it!!!
And the colors are perfect for a Masculine Valentine I think!!
Let's finish up with a standard A2 card - Whisper White card base, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".
Again, I used a pattern from the Country Club Designer Series Paper (this one a gorgeous green plaid) for the background; then mixed in Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel for some nice "pop" colors for this unconventional Valentine.
I used the Meant to Be stamp set and the Stitched Be Mine Dies to create the heart elements; and the Word Wishes Dies to die cut the word "Valentine".
You'll find the "scattered heart" image tucked in the Forever Lovely stamp set.
This is actually a very "clean and simple" card that would not take long to throw together!
I also really love how the inside of this card came together.
I think this will be a nice Valentine for my honey (along with all the others -- LOL).
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Don’t forget to show us some love by commenting on our creations. Save the Date!!! ~~ Wednesday, March 11th for our "Critter Card" Blog Hop; when our Design Team showcases projects with animals, birds, butterflies or insects. Don’t miss the fun!
