Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Happy Monday! A quick and fast 2-day weekend here at DDS Studios. We had our Peaceful Poppies Suite product focus class this Saturday; and my poor honey had to work all weekend! So I'm not sure either one of us really felt like we got a "break" this weekend!
It's going to be a busy week too. And another round of snow threatening! I'm looking forward to sharing some fun with you this week in-between the chaoticness!!
I've been very excited about the Peaceful Poppies Suite since I first saw it at OnStage in November; and have just been itchin' to share with you!
But I've been holding back with Valentine's upon us; and not wanting to give away too much before I held class this weekend.
Now I can go full bore and have some with the rest of you!! Yeah!
I've probably made at least six of these journals already! I LOVE the Poppy Moment Dies, and the options to design with them.
These two journals showcase two different ways to create this design ~ let's walk through each of them!
On this journal cover I created the poppies with plain cardstock - Calypso Coral & Poppy Parade for the flowers; Granny Apple Green & Mossy Meadow for the leaves. You can see how I alternate the background cutouts with the detailed overlays.
Although it may take a few minutes to make all your cutouts, and glue the layering pieces together, it is well worth the effort.
Look how pretty all these pieces layer together.
The sentiment, you ask?
Easy!! Take your stampin' write marker color of choice, and color in the "moments" and the "joy" ONLY on the "These are the moments . . . " sentiment in the Peaceful Moments stamp set; stamp each one on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and snip to create your banner!
These cutouts were created in the same fashion, . . . BUT . . . I used the designer paper to capture the background flowers, and coordinated the detailed die cardstock over the top to create a lovely "new" look. The cardstock color overlays you see here are Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, and Poppy Parade. I LOVE the purples in the designer paper and how you can pull those colors out when creating. Isn't this pretty??
You can find these sweet journals in the Annual Catalog (the Pressed Petals Journal, pg. 170). You will LOVE the sweet pages inside, line and created just for you to add pictures, mementos, memories and thoughts. What a perfect gift this would make, don't you think? I keep a stash of these journals; I just think they're fantastic!!
Happy Monday!!
and
Happy creating everyone!!
