Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well, here we are!! It's Monday again . . . and already!! Although it was a 3-day weekend for me; it went by awfully quickly. We had snow; then a warmer sunny day; and then snow again! We're getting a reprieve again today and tomorrow; and then expecting another round of the white stuff on Wednesday! Seems like Winter has returned with a vengeance with the arrival of February; after a pretty mild December and January!!
Cold days allow for slower times hangin' at home; and a return to focusing on creativity. After I got the chores under control, I did finish one little sewing project leftover from last year of all things!! LOL It was nice to sit at the sewing machine a little bit; and get one UFO (UnFinished Object) done and out of the drawers. I've pulled out my St. Patty's table runner I started 2 years ago back out. I have good intentions!! hahaha -- we'll see.
In the meantime, it's time to get back to my creativity spot in my beautiful studio!
And bring you a project I started about a month ago ~ and finally finished up this weekend!
This adorable set of 3" x 3" cards fit perfectly in my Valentine pizza "gift" box. I still LOVE these little boxes. They are so much fun to decorate and work with.
I used a sponge brayer and colored the entire outside of the box with Blushing Bride ink.
Then I cut a piece of From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, measured 3-3/8" x 3-3/8". I cut a piece of the white backer from our DSP packs the same size, and SNAIL'd the two together to give the DSP some thickness and strength (Note: In case you are wondering, I save all those white "backers" that are in our DSP packs; they are so useful for a lot of things!). Then I popped it on the top lid of the pizza box using dimensionals.
Then I used a variety of "hearts" to decorate the top, starting with a Flirty Flamingo Heart Doily, then a scalloped stitched cutout heart in Whisper White using the Be Mine Stitched Dies. I also cut out a "spray" of hearts using the same die set and Sparkle Glimmer Paper.
Then there is a lovely piece of 1/4" Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon; and popped over it is a sentiment using the Meant to Be stamp set, and the same Stitched Be Mine Dies. In fact, if you're paying attention . . . this is the heart that is cut out of the center of the "frame" that I glued flat to the top of the box behind it!!
A few From My Heart Faceted Gems - and this little gift box just sparkles!!
Inside, are tucked six 3" x 3" notecards and envelopes - so cute!!
A lovely little gift; or a place to keep your pretties until you're ready to use them!!
Like I said earlier, I actually made the first 3 little notecards earlier in January, using a stamp set from our Holiday catalog (Tiny Keepsakes) that is now retired; and one that carried forward! Did you pay attention that Tags, Tags, Tags is still with us?? And did you see those adorable little Valentine tags in that stamp set?? They're fabulous!!!
So I was planning on trying to find a different "background" stamp to create a more "up-to-date" set of notecards; and then here came the wonderful January Paper Pumpkin "I'll Bee Yours" Kit!! Oh my! If you are not signed up and receiving this monthly kit, you are MISSING OUT!!! In this case, the Exclusive photopolymer stamp set, that you cannot get anywhere except In the kit itself!! And it had the PERFECT background stamp that I was looking for.
And did you know that right now during Sale-A-Bration, you can order a 3-month, 6-month or 12-month Prepaid Subscription, and earn FREE SAB rewards too!?! It's the perfect time to save a little on your PP, and get FREE stuff while you're at it!! 😉
You'll see that I stamped out the pretty little background stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in 3 colorways ~ Old Olive, Pool Party & "technically" Blushing Bride (I'll explain in a minute).
And so, if you're wondering what ink color this is, it's what I'll call a "happy accident." I originally started stamping out in Blushing Bride; needed to re-ink my ink pad; grabbed the wrong color re-inker and didn't realize it until it was like WAAAAAYYYY too late!! LOL So this is a "ruined" Blushing Bride ink pad that has Blackberry Bliss mixed into it now. Turned out kind of pretty actually.
So I decided to just stick with it; and mixed the Blushing Bride cardstock in as matting, etc.
