Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Time for the next installment in our "Meet the Suite" series. Today it's all about the poppies!! . . . 😉 Lovin' those poppies by the way!! There is so much I want to try yet with this Suite of products; including some "out-of-the-box" colors; not ALL poppies have to be red, right?? LOL
Today, we're going to play with some "elegant" traditional looks in our card designs that allow the Poppies to play a center-stage role, and get all the glory. But first . . . let's meet this incredible suite of products:
The Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle, Item #153938, Is an INCREDIBLE Bundle that Includes the Following Products:
- Painted Poppies cling stamp set
- Painted Labels Dies
- Peaceful Moments cling stamp set
- Poppy Moments Dies
- Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper
- 1/4" Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
- Peaceful Poppies Sequins
- Peaceful Poppies Elements
The nice thing about the Peaceful Poppies Suite is that it includes BOTH of the Stamp/Die bundles at an incredible value.
And these two bundles, along with the rest of the supporting products, are intended to interact and coordinate with each other ~ which they do beautifully!!
This past Saturday I held my Peaceful Poppies class . . . and oh we had fun!!
This is just a few of the projects we made!
Today we're going to focus on the "clean and simple" card in the lower right-hand side of this picture; and creating a "stepped up" version of that same design! You're going to just LOVE these gorgeous elegant cards!
Our "clean and simple" card is truly that. A Whisper White base; a Basic Black mat layer; with just a nice edge peaking out all the way around the clean Whisper White background.
Then using the 2 largest Layering Oval Dies, I cut a Basic Black "mat" oval; and a Whisper White oval that I embossed with the Scripty 3D Emboss Folder. The two are layered together and popped with dimensionals in the center of the card front.
From there it's all about the poppy -- LOL
I stamped the simple stem poppy with the bud image in Memento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White cardstock. I colored them with Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin' Blends.
Then I fussy cut the two stems apart (yes, I totally separated and cut the two images individually).
The Basic Black "spray" is from the Frosted Bouquet Dies, adhere with a little Fine-Tip Glue.
Then each Poppy stem is adhered, the bud stem overlaying the open flower stem.
Finally I attached several black sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins Collection.
The stepped up version is pretty fun!
Again, the basic Whisper White cardstock base; and the Basic Black mat piece.
This time, however, when I cut the Whisper White background, I embossed the entire piece with the Scripty 3D Emboss Folder; and then I cut an oval out of the center of that piece of cardstock with the 2nd larges Oval die.
When the Whisper White embossed/cut cardstock is adhered to the Basic Black mat, I then wrapped it with a piece of 1/2" Black Satin Ribbon, before adhering it to the card front.
Now you can proceed to cut a piece of Basic Black with the largest Oval die and mat the Whisper White oval cutout to it.
This is popped on the front of the card with dimensionals.
Then I used the "detail leaf" die from the Poppy Moments Dies to cut one from Basic Black and one from Vellum. You'll see those laid in the center of the Whisper White embossed oval with Fine-Tip Glue.
Next, I did the same thing as above with the Poppy image, except I stamped on Shimmery White cardstock this time, and I added Clear Wink of Stella on the poppy flower images.
I finished off with clusters of Black sequins, and a gorgeous Black Satin double bow (reminded me of a bow tie for a tuxedo - LOL)
The extra details really make this card sing!
There's just something about black & white, with a pop of red!
Don't you agree?
