Fabulous Friday Fun ~~ A Wednesday Spotlight on New Designer Papers

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

Well, my goodness!!  What a crazy 3-day work week I have had.  I'm so glad it's a 3-day weekend for me so I can recover!!  LOL

I've been trying to sneak in some crafting time inbetween the hecticness of work this week; but it has been difficult.  So today I'm bringing the "spotlight" I had planned for my Wednesday blog post ~~ better late than never, right?  😉😉😉

 

It's time to start playing with new products -- and giving you all some wonderful sneak peeks!!

And this new suite of products ~~ In Good Taste ~~ is entirely fabulous!!

I just know you're going to love everything coming in the new catalog!

Today's "spotlight" is on soon and coming new designer series paper -- and later today, I hope you will join me over on DDS Facebook as I give you a closer look at some of the new papers that have arrived here in the Studio.

 

Today's card designs focus on the new In Good Taste Designer Series Paper;

with some new Tasteful Touches stamp set and Tasteful Labels Dies interwoven in.

Here I chose two of the designs from the paper collection; and created a stamped background as well with the new stamp set.

Put together, it's a beautiful card!

The feathers are fussy-cut; but easy to do with this new image!

If you watched last week's DDS FB video introducing our new In Colors, then you got a chance to see the new Misty Moonlight, coordinated with Seaside Spray and Night of Navy.  I have showcased that here with an accent of Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla giving a lovely soft backdrop!

What's amazing is to find this color pattern in this same paper collection!

Combined with Rococo Rose, Blushing Bride and the new Cinnamon Cider, it's really lovely!!

You are going to LOVE this new die set!

Something else I used in this design today are the new In Good Taste Elements - which I painted with the Rose Gold shimmer paint from the Everything Is Rosy Product Medley (still available on the clearance rack!!)

I think I'm finding new ways to use these fabulous wooden elements and am looking forward to experimenting!

Terrific Tuesdays ~~ It's Time to Share!!

Hello Fellow Stampers ~~

We ended up "hiding away" over the long Memorial Day Weekend - binge-watching Downton Abbey on PBS.  Yes, believe it or not, my husband sat and watched Downton Abbey with me ALL weekend!!  In fact, he got himself all involved and couldn't stop watching; and at the end of one intense scene, turned to me and said "that had better not be the end of the episode!"  I nearly fell off the sofa laughing - my husband was hooked on Downton Abbey!!  It was a wonderful weekend actually!!  We did nothing - absolutely nothing - but lounge and watch TV.  It was great!!

But now it's time for catching up!!  So we'll be busy this week both with work (it's a 3-day week for work); and for our Stampin' Up! fun!  And I'm holding off just a few days on the promised Class With Wendy because -- Yeah!! -- we're getting an upgrade on the internet speed here at the house and I can hardly wait!!!  So stay tuned! -- we'll get back to all things fun later this week!!

CASE-Out Thursdays ~~ Diagonal Fold Re-Make!

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

 

Happy Thursday!!  Who is looking forward to a "long" weekend for Memorial Day???  Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . . . .  LOL  And we're supposed to be returning to Spring-like weather (upper sixties; low seventies); instead of "July in  May" weather -- LOL  Hopefully we can putter on some projects around the house; and find some relaxing moments too!!

 

 

Back in February I showcased this Diagonal-Fold card showcasing the Parisian Blossoms suite of products!

I've been meaning to do a tutorial on this "fancy fold" but have been dragging my feel a little bit!

 

About a week ago I was perusing Pinterest and ran into an idea with the Free As a Bird bundle, and was reminded that I really loved this card fold and wanted to play with it again!

And so . . . . here we are today!  With a "remake" of this fabulous "fancy fold" (or fun fold), remade with a different designer series paper and a whole new set of stamps and dies!!

I wanted to showcase the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper in this project today - sadly this DSP will not be carrying forward!

BUT, there's a new product tucked into this design -- can you see it ?? 😉😉😉

All the birds and leaves are fussy cut!  A little time-consuming, but not too bad!

And there is plenty of Wink of Stella in all the right places for a lovely shimmer added to this card!!

I added some coordinating DSP on the back side of the flaps for some extra color and fun!

Wednesday Spotlight ~~ New 2020-2022 In Color in the Spotlight!!

WOW!  It's the middle the week - Hump Day!!  LOL  🐫🐫🐫🐫🐫

Did you know that we have a Holiday Weekend coming up??  It hardly feels that way this year ~~ I don't know if it's that way for the rest of you.  Just a very strange year; especially as there really isn't any place we can go or anything "special" we can do.  I'll probably stick to grilling at home and finding a good book to read!!  Maybe a margarita!!  LOL

Mix-It Up Mondays ~~ Easy Memories & More Card Designs

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

How is everyone as we kick off another beautiful week in May?  It's going to feel like Summer here for a few days; but I'm loving Springtime in Colorado this year!!

 

I wanted to kick off this week by showcasing a couple of items that make Easy Peasy cards - like I mean quick and fun; the items I'm featuring in today's card designs are retiring soon!  And then I'll point out the "supporting" items that will be carrying forward to the new Annual -- yeah!!!

 

I created these beauties using the Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack and the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes set.

These tools make creating quick and easy card designs a snap!!

 

These card packs were made for more than just memory keeping; Stampin' Up! designed them with quick easy card designing in mind!  So, that makes them extra versatile; especially for someone like me that loves to create photo albums AND make cards!!  😉😉😉

Let me show what I did close up!!

This gorgeous flower spray was fussy cut from one of the larger cards; then I popped it with dimensionals over a loop of the Braided Burlap Trim.

You might notice the gorgeous Kraft card base with the pre-printed Silver Foil accents on the front!!  Perfect to showcase whatever you put in the center!

Sadly -- all these products are retiring in another 2 weeks!  We are going to lose these fabulous pre-done, ready to go card bases, this perfect trim; and the card collection too!!!

 

Here's a "sneak" look at what I did with the inside. 

This card base is an unusual side -- 6-1/4" x 4-1/4"; so you'll be glad they come with their own matching envelopes

 

This memory card I picked out of the stack, carefully (with just a "THIN" edge showing) matted it with Mango Melody cardstock - and popped it up on the center of the card base with dimensionals.

I snuck some Mango Melody ribbon out of the Everything is Rosy Product Medley - perfect match!!

Then adhered several of the Tropical Oasis Trinkets, which is also retiring!

Thanks to the Timeless Tropical stamp set - which, thankfully, will still be available in the new catalog!!

 

The last card I dressed up using the In the Tropics Dies (also sticking around - whew!!)

Look how easy (and fun!) it was to dress up the front of this card!!
