Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
We've arrived at the 2nd Wednesday of June!! It snuck up on me when I wasn't looking; and my birthday is tomorrow!! Yikes! Maybe I can ignore that day this week!! LOL
It's time to play with the Stampin' Pretty Pals! This month theme the Stampin' Pretty Pals are showcasing the 2020-2022 In Colors!! And what a beautiful set of In Colors they are this year!! I have fallen in love with all of them; it's so hard to choose just one!
You may be starting the hop here or you may be hopping over from Deb Walker at Deb Stamps Life. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. When you're done perusing today's project, you’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move or “hop” along your way from Pal-to-Pal.
Today's project was truly a multi-day work in progress. I struggled the entire weekend trying to figure out how I could showcase the entire 5-color collection of In Colors; and not liking anything I was doing. By Monday morning, I abandoned the direction I was going and started anew.
I am so much happier with the project I ended up with, I can't even tell you! In the end I am focusing on 3 of the 5 In Colors for this project; and I truly feel it works so much better!
Design Colorology . . .
Today's "fancy fold" is called a Tri-Fold Accordian card. There are several versions to be found on the internet; and so I took some basics from a Z-Fold card, and played with the measurements and scoring on my Simply Scored until I got what I wanted for this card.
The measurements for this special fold I created are as follows:
Very Vanilla cardstock (12" x 12") cut 5-1/2" x 12"
Score down the long side (12" side) @ 1-1/2", 3", 5-3/8" & 7-3/4"
Note: if you want to do it right so that you fold the correct way on the score bump, you can flip the card to the "back" for the score lines at the 7-3/4" and 3" marks
This picture shows the card opened. I really love this.
The picture further up shows the card closed - and you'll note that I created the front sentiment to hold the ribbon that ties around the card and ties it shut! Kind of a fun twist.
I used the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper to carry my color theme throughout the card design. I love blue and yellow together; and the "pop" of green gives a nice mix.
Here is a closer look at the back side of the first fold and front of the second fold.
I used the sentiments from the Beauty Abounds stamp set throughout this card; as well as a whole bunch of new product - like the Ornate Layers Dies you see showcased here.
The back side of the 2nd fold shows some sprigs from the Sunflowers Dies.
And then the inside of the back fold of the card is really the pièce de résistance, showcasing the gorgeous new Many Layered Blossoms Dies.
Behind the dies I chose Copper Foil for a nice "pop" to show through the flower cutouts; and layered So Saffron against the Bumblebee cardstock to soften the yellow layering.
The new label with the sentiment in the center? You can find that in the new Tasteful Labels Dies!
I hope you had fun with today's project. There are so many wonderful new products to play with -- and the In Colors are going to make designing and creating so much fun for the next two years!!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 8th, with our theme "Gifts from the Garden" when the design team will showcase cards or gift ideas from treasures found in the garden.
I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
