Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well my goodness!! So much for all my good plans this past week!! It seems like everything overtakes me. And I've been trying to keep evenings (dinner and evening hours) for my husband, and not just burying myself away in my Studio. It's easy to just "get stuck" down here and not notice time is flying by -- LOL
Today we planted some flowers together in the flower bed on the southwest side of the house; and we're planning to have an early dinner at the mexican restaurant down the street that just built an outdoor patio. Try to feel a little "normal" if we can.
Before I run off to spend time with my honey though, I did find some time in the studio this afternoon, just in time for Father's Day!!
I have to say that this year's Annual Catalog has to be one of the very best I have ever seen in terms of masculine stamp sets.
But before I jump into new sets; let's grab a couple that carried forward into the new Annual - starting with the absolutely fabulous, incredible Mountain Air set. I was absolutely in love this set the moment I saw it in the Spring Mini at OnStage (convention) last November.
And would you believe it has taken me until now to finally pull it out and play with it?!? Yikes!
This card design was done completely in blues - my husband's favorite color; and perfect for creating a "monotone" card with this stamp set.
The card base is cut from Seaside Spray cardstock. And I employed a new idea (for me) on this card; I embossed the entire 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base with the new Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder before scoring at 4-1/4". This way you'll get a feel for the same texture both inside and outside the card.
The rest of the blues employed in this design are Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy.
If you watched my In Color introduction last month, and color coordination talk, you will know that I showed you how these 3 colors are in the same color family and work perfectly together!!
Design Colorology . . .
The center panel is Shimmery White and has been stamped completely with the Mountain Air stamp set.
The background mountains are in Seaside Spray (stamped off once first); then the middle tree/lake scene is stamped in Misty Moonlight.
The fabulous thing about this stamp set? It's reversible. Flip those trees over and use the back side, stamped upside down, to get the "reflection" in the water. Also in Misty Moonlight ink, but stamped off once first.
The scene was finished off with the foreground pine trees on the right side, stamped in Night of Navy - stamp the full image once; then move the image slightly to the right and immediately stamp again without re-inking the stamp.
Wondering where that fabulous "denim" frayed edge ribbon comes from behind the sentiment?? Check out the Boho Indigo Product Medley! You'll absolutely LOVE everything in that kit.
The sentiment is from the brand new Best Year stamp set; and cut with the new Tasteful Labels Dies.
Inside I finished off with the same Best Year stamp set, and more options from that wonderful set of dies!!
Can't go wrong with these products!!
I really felt like this was the perfect sentiment for me to honor my husband tomorrow on Father's Day - to let him know I think he's a Great Dad!! And he means the absolute world to me!!
I will be making him a brand new recipe from Pioneer Woman tomorrow - Key Lime Pie Cupcakes! He LOVES Key Lime, and when he saw the recipe in my magazine, he hinted STRONGLY I could make those for him -- LOL
And later we will take flowers to our fathers' graves at Ft. Logan Cemetery. A good day for each us to remember our own Dads . . . gone too soon!!
Hope you had fun with today's design ~~
