Hello Fellow Stampers ~
It's Hump Day!! LOL My husband has added today and tomorrow as vacation days to our "holiday" Friday. I'm following close behind! I'm going to take tomorrow off and make it a 4-day weekend!! I have BIG quilting plans for the weekend!! LOL We'll see how it all goes!
Today's spotlight is on the brand new Water Painters (the replacement to our previous AquaPainters).
And while I'm at it, I'm showcasing the Inspiring Iris stamp set, that I really love; never got around to playing with during the last Annual Catalog cycle; and was relieved to see it carried forward to the new Annual so that I can actually play with this gorgeous stamp set!!
The background to this card design was created with a piece of the 100 Watercolor Paper; and the brand new Water Painters!
The new "aquapainters" (to us the old term), are pretty cool actually!!
Now a set of 3 -- they're longer than our old ones; and we have a new brush tip that we didn't have before - in painting brushes this is known as a "flat shader."
I used this one to create my watercolor background just to give it a try and see how it felt and acted.
I highly recommend you get the new set of Water Painters. I think you are really going to like them!!!
The Inspiring Iris stamp set is a 2-step stamp set with a "watercolor" feel to the stamping.
You stamp the outline first; and then the "fill in" color with the solid stamps. You can see how you get a lovely watercolor impressionistic look with this stamp set.
I added the yellow "edges & centers" to my Iris with a Light Daffodil Delight stampin' blend. I love purple & yellow Iris. I also added the requisite Wink of Stella for some extra shimmer to the petals 😉😉
This is done on Shimmery White cardstock, and cut out with the Layering Ovals Dies. The offset was an "accident" that when it laid out that way I decided I loved!
The center ovals are popped up with dimensionals.
And yes, I fussy cut that adoraable little sentiment and attached it to the oval.
And if you have missed the LUSCIOUS ribbon in the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack go back and take another look. This one is perfect for my double-bow.
I incorporated some of the other stamp images inside the card to finish it off.
I really like one of the sentiments in the set - but am delaying stamping it on the inside the card until I know how I want to use it.
I hope you enjoyed today's spotlight and card design!! Now go have some creative fun!!! 😁😁
I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
