Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~
We've arrived at the 2nd Wednesday of July!! Halfway thru the year -- 4th of July already behind us!! My Goodness. How time does fly!!
It's time to play with the Stampin' Pretty Pals! This month the Stampin' Pretty Pals are showcasing "Gifts From the Garden." I LOVE gardening -- flowers, vegetables . . . you name it!! Let's see what "popped up" in my Studio this month 😉😉
You may be starting the hop here or you may be hopping over from Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping. Either way, you’ve come to the right place. When you're done perusing today's project, you’ll find the the full line-up below to help you move or “hop” along your way from Pal-to-Pal.
Invoking dreams of cool, green, lush gardens and benches tucked among trees, bushes, ferns, . . . I decided to crack open the new Forever Fern Bundle. There are so many wonderful pieces and parts to this suite; today we'll focus on just a few. This card duo incorporates a similar design, with slight differences!
We'll start with the vertical card - on a Thick Very Vanilla card base, cut 11" x 4-1/4", scored @ 5-1/2".
The "pop" color in today's card designs is Rich Razzleberry - those rich blooms among the garden greens!
This card has a background mat of 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" in Rich Razzleberry.
Then the front panel is a piece of Very Vanilla cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".
That piece has been "splattered" with a mixture of Just Jade and Mint Macaron inks. Use your Aqua Painter, pick up the ink color, and using a pen or pencil to tap against your Aqua Painter, flick and splatter across the card stock.
Then I embossed the piece with the brand new Tasteful Textures 3D Embossing Folder - oh my!! This may be my new Go To embossing folder!! I love it as much as the Subtle emboss folder.
Next, I cut a circle in the center of the Very Vanilla piece using a Layering Circles Die that is the same size as our new Gold Hoops Embellishments.
Then I attached one of the laser cut outs from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on the back side. Pretty, huh?
Next, I used Fine-Tip Glue, and carefully "seated" the Gold Hoop inside the circle on the front of the card. The hoop should just sit right in place. Use your Silicone Craft Sheet while working with the glue and allow the hoop to dry. This will keep from sticking to things you don't want it to stick to. 😄😄
Then that finished piece is attached to the Rich Razzleberry; and then to the front of the card base.
You can see in this close up how the hoop nests down into the cut out in the cardstock just slightly. The effect is lovely!
The rest of this about going to town and having some fun with the stamp set and dies.
I used Granny Apple Green and Just Jade for a nice fresh "garden" feel.
The gorgeous Forever Greenery Trim is tied in a double bow; with the gold twine tied around the center in a second bow. Attach with glue dots securely.
Let's try something new on the inside of the card - tie that same gold trim around the layers and into a bow on the front before attaching them to the inside of the card.
Now let's simplify things just a teensy tiny bit for the second card!!
This time on the horizontal -- the same Rich Razzleberry mat; and the flicked/splattered Very Vanilla card overlay embossed with Tasteful Textures 3D embossing folder.
But this time, we will not cut out the circle.
Instead, we'll attach the Gold Hoop directly to the cardstock - again using Fine-Tip Glue.
On this card I didn't stamp any of the images and then cut them out; instead I used the dies and just cut straight Granny Apple Green & Just Jade cardstock leaves; and included these gorgeous laser cut leaves from the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.
Again, the double bow tied with the Gold trim and attached securely with glue dots.
I love this simple sentiment from the stamp set -- I'm always looking for sentiments that fit easily into my favorite punch - the Classic Label Punch. Not very many sentiments actually fit into that punch!
Gilded Gems finish off both of these cards.
And a little fun inside the card again -- did you know that there is two of this leaf spray in the stamp set? One directed to the left; and the other to the right! Now how cool is that. It's almost as good as "mirror" stamping!!
I hope you had fun with today's projects. There are so many wonderful new products to play with -- I do believe I'm going to be playing with this suite quite a bit this year!!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created!
