"It's the Sentiment that Counts!" - September Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop

Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~

It's the 2nd Wednesday of September; and as we close out the end of Summer and anticipate the beginning of Autumn, the Stampin' Pretty Pals are designing projects that showcase fabulous sentiments - because, after all - it is ALL about the sentiment; don' you agree?!?

Today's design is centered around creating a fabulous Autumn-themed birthday card.

When you're making the sentiment the focal point of your card design, what better way to do it than with a large, bold font-style.  The Ridiculously Awesome stamp set is perfect for this sort of design!

 

And when I was designing this card, I decided to use my simple half-front, flap card - but step it up into a new look!

You can catch a peek of it here; I used the Stitched Nested Label Dies to create the front flap; but you'll note the piece it was cut out of is part of the back inside of the card which creates a finished 'nested' look to the entire card.

 

I also love the new Stitched Leaves Dies which I incorporated here for the Autumn theme.

Mix-It Up Mondays ~~ Week 4 - 16 Weeks of Christmas

Hello Fellow Stampers ~ 

Happy Labor Day!!!  I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing day together and no "laboring" going on!!  LOL  We're very quiet here at the Klein-McGee household.  Mike is working on a new puzzle; Mom Terry is working on word search puzzles, and me . . . I'm having a lovely day in the DDS Studio working on all sorts of projects!!  We're going to grill some buffalo burgers later . . . and start getting ready for the 60 degree drop in temps coming overnight and the snow tomorrow morning -- yikes!!  Hard to believe!  Life in Colorado!  🤣😂🤣

 

It's time for this week's installment of my 16 Weeks of Christmas.  Hard to believe that we're already up to Week 4.  I'm having lots of fun picking out a special set to share with you each week; and I hope you're enjoying this inspiration as well; and that you're getting some ideas for your own Christmas card creations this year.

 

Today's design features the new In the Pines bundle.  I also pulled from the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley for this design.  The designer papers from this product medley work perfectly with this gorgeous new bundle!!

This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4" - with the fold to the top.

Then I pulled in Gold Foil to pull the gold foil accents in the designer paper; and Old Olive.

 

I cut the cute strip that pulls the top and bottom designer paper pieces together using the Many Medallions Dies.  Check out this cool die set for some fabulous mosaic and decorative edging ideas!

 

The trees in the Pine Woods Dies are just fabulous!  And I edged various branches on these with Shimmer Crystal Effects.  Did you "catch" that this wonderful embellishment carried forward to our new Annual Catalog from last year's Holiday Mini ??

The sentiment is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder; and cut with the Stitched Rectangles.

 

The inside of the card reflects the designer paper used on the front - and creates a great space for either another stamped sentiment; or your handwritten note.

 

Today's design is not an overly intricate design.  You could whip up a batch of these cards fairly quickly !!  😉😉

 

 

I have BIG plans for this week -- LOL  We'll see how much I get done!  Stay tuned!

Wednesday Spotlight ~~ Beautiful Autumn Bundle

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

Well, this week is flying by me; headaches and all!!  I do continue to try to get caught up around here.  I have started too many projects at once; I do believe that is my problem!!  LOL  Too many projects did not keep me from creating today's design however.  With a fabulous new Autumn bundle that is beyond cute and I hope you are not overlooking in this fabulous new catalog!

This is a punch bundle -- and everyone loves the ease of punches, right??!!

I think these punches are adorable.  The only "down-side" was that they didn't include one for the cute pine cone in the set -- LOL.

Today's design just glimmers and shimmers with all the gold and copper highlights!  I'm lovin' it!!

The Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper is some of my very favorite!!  You will find these gorgeous foil accents throughout that paper.

 

The background panel is created to accentuate the focus panels on top -- perfect, don't you think?  😉

All the panels on this card are matted with the new Brushed Metallic Cardstock for a lovely accent of foil throughout the design.

The center background panel measures 4-1/2" x 2-1/4" (the foil; bring your Very Vanilla piece in by 1/8" all the way around).

Then the center focal squares are cut with the Stitched Shapes Dies and layered with the scallops from the Layering Squares Dies.  Easy Peasy!!

Even easier are the acorn and leaves which are stamped (2-step stamping), and punched and added using glue dots!

I love it!!

 

Finish off the inside with the cute wheat stalk; and you're all set to go!!

I used Cinnamon Cider as my mat piece for the inside to emulate the copper foil accents on the front.

 

The card is finished off with 1/4" Copper Grosgrain Ribbon in the Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, and some lovely Champagne Rhinestones!!

You would LOVE this card in person!!!  😉😉

Mix-It Up Mondays ~~ Week 3 - 16 Weeks of Christmas

Hello Fellow Stampers ~ 

Haha !!!  What a week this past week has been!!!  Could I be ANY further behind in sharing with all of you???  Yikes!!  Not only that, it's SEPTEMBER!!!  OMG!!!  Now I'm seriously overwhelmed!

 

Okay, this means, I'll be working like mad in the Studio this week !!  There is A LOT going on!!  But enough panicking!  It's time to get down to business.  And boy, do we have "business" to get down to this week; starting with this week's installment of my 16 Weeks of Christmas (did you see I tried to count "backwards" last week on my weeks??  LOL 🤣😂🤣).  So, really, it is ONLY Week 3!!  Don't YOU all start panicking on me too!!!  haha

 

This week I'm dipping my toes into the gorgeous Dove of Hope Bundle.  This sweet little stamp and die set is going to provide you some pretty fabulous options for card making this Fall season.

 

Today's design is all about the sparkle, shimmer and glimmer!  The more the better!

And yes, I snuck in a little bit of retired product today -- our pretty Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  I'm not exactly sure why Stampin' Up! retired all our glimmer paper in June.  I definitely have my stash; and I hope you have yours.  I think it's interesting that they are sneaking some glimmer paper back into the mix (with the Balmy Blue Glimmer in our August - December Mini Catalog).   If you don't have any of the glimmer paper displayed here; try Michael's.  They usually have a wonderful selection of glimmer and shimmer papers.

 

I used a wonderful "watercolor" looking paper from the Snowflake Splendor DSP - this one a beautiful soft Pool Party color which I set against a Pool Party card base.  The iridescent colors of the glimmer paper pick up the Pool Party coloring perfectly!

And it all looks perfect with the new Snowflake Splendor 1/4" Ribbon which looks like it was meant to go with this ensemble!!

 

The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party on a piece of the designer paper; and cut out with the Ornate Frames Dies.  I very carefully colored over each letter in the sentiment with Clear Wink of Stella to add that extra shimmer

 

The beautiful Detailed Dove Dies are a breeze to work with; and this little bird carries his olive branch with a coordinating bow to bring Peace to the World this Chrismas.

 

The entire card is finished off with a "sprinkle" of Snowflake Sequins (a returning fave from last year!)
