Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Howdy! We're getting closer to being caught up on our fun together here at DDS Studios!! The past several days have turned out to be rather busy as we started putting together packages for mailing to Mike's kids on the East Coast, worked on some baking, and I'm trying to work through some last minute sewing items for gifts. Turns out, it can be rather expensive to mail packages these days -- LOL. Since we're not spending Christmas with the kids this year, we're trying to make it as nice as possible for all concerned.
In the meantime, I'm trying to wind things up at work this week and shut it all down for my year-end break; which cannot come soon enough for me!! I'm ready to sleep in for awhile!! LOL This post I had intended to put up over the weekend, but things just got a little crazy on me. So here we are, working catch up a little bit again this week! Today's 16 Weeks of Christmas design is truly the "clean and simple" project that I've been promising you. AND, . . . I'm reminding everyone that we have some fabulous products in the Annual Catalog that work wonderfully for a Christmas card. Here we go . . .
Snow Front is one of those stamp sets that all you need is ink and a little creativity and you've got everything you need!!!
And I certainly had some fun with this design -- clean and simple!
The card base for this card is cut from Seaside Spray cardstock, and the front panel is Shimmery White -- once of my favorite cardstocks!!
I matted with some metallic silver (a retired item that I hoard for special occasions - LOL)
So everything on this card is stamped right on the Shimmery White panel and attached right to the front of the card! No die cutting, no punching, no coloring with markers -- LOL
I simply played with ink and the images from the set - and how pretty and sweet is this!?!
The sentiment was stamped first in Real Red - and comes from the Still Scenes stamp set, also from the Annual Catalog.
Then I positioned the cabin using Soft Suede ink and then worked in the pine trees around it using the different pine tree images in the Snow Front stamp set. I used my favorite green - Old Olive - and stamped off to get the softer look of some of the trees in the background.
The "stream" and "pond" are stamped with Seaside Spray ink to match the card base; and the deer and main large tree are stamped in Soft Suede. Don't forget your little birds for that pop of color in the scene.
I added Clear Wink of Stella across the "snow" in the fields around the house and stream. And finished it off with a scattering of Snowflake Sequins in the "sky."
It's simple, easy, and quick to make; and I really just love it!
Hope you do too!!
Be sure to snag retiring products soon!!
Stay tuned as we continue to catch up on the 16 Weeks of Christmas, and more fun products!! Many of these are retiring in a few short weeks; so don't miss out! Get yours today!!

Hugs, . . .
