Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Welcome to Thursday! This week is definitely flying by me!!!! And I've been busy as a bee for sure! I'm realizing that Valentine's is like 2 days away, and I was at the grocery store this morning, looking at chocolate covered strawberries, cute stuffed animals, and some lovely steaks to grill. Time to make those plans for the special day. 😉😉😉
I'm also realizing, that I'm going to have to sit down and design a really good masculine Valentine before Sunday - yikes!! Wish me luck! LOL In the meantime, I'm working to get all organized for my Annual Valentine's Class, which we're holding virtually tomorrow night. I'm excited to "see" my gals once again!
It's been awhile since we've done a CASE-Out here on the blog. Today's card is a CASE of one I saw from one of my fellow Stampin' Pretty Pals a couple weeks ago; but of course, stepped and changed a little to make it a "Wendy card" !!! 😉
Design Colorology . . . .
This pretty little Valentine is perfect to send "just that little note" to your favorite someone!
The card base is Thick White cut 4-/1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".
Then I pulled a pretty piece of designer paper from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper collection, and cut it 5-3/8" x 4-1/8".
The overlay of Gray Granite cardstock is cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle Die; then I used the FABULOUS "waterfall" hearts in the Many Hearts Dies to cut the hearts out down the right-hand side of the cardstock piece.
The incredible thing about this die cut is it also cuts out the "frame" and the inner heart all at the same time; so there are so MANY options you can play with here.
I chose to cut the die a second time from White cardstock; first putting the cardstock on an Adhesive Sheet so that when the pieces were cut out, they already had an adhesive on the back of them; making it incredibly easy to lay the "frame" back into each of these heart openings on the card.
This allows the DSP in the background to show through beautifully, which I used plenty of Wink of Stella on to make those hearts glimmer and shimmer!
I added a "swoosh" (that's a technical term - LOL) of the Blushing Bride 3/8" Metallic Ribbon underneath my punched heart sentiment (from the Lots of Heart stamp set) that is popped with dimensionals on the card front; and finished it all off with some pretty little pearls.
It has detail, but is a simple card also!
The inside of the card is finished with the Gray Granit, Petal Pink and White cardstocks; then I stamped this lovely vertical line of hearts (from the same stamp set), and added the sweet little sentiment.
And no "naked envelopes" for sure! Easy to fix with this cute dotted-pattern heart that is in the stamp set as well!
This is a wonderful stamp set with wonderful sentiments and wonderful heart images! Be sure to check it out!
I love the softness of the colors in this sweet little Valentine!
