Hello Fellow Stampers ~
How has everyone's week been? I unintentionally have not been up on the blog all week. Not my plan; but we have been VERY busy here at DDS Studios getting ready for the upcoming Annual Catalog launch; getting special packages in the mail to my customers, and planning for some fun events (both virtual and in-person) for the next several months.
This means that this upcoming Catalog Product Shares are now live and available for reservation; and that the Annual Studio Clean Out Sale is around the corner (check out what's left from last year, and help me clear the shelves before the new sale starts)!!!
My goodness! How time does fly!! Stay tuned for more information coming as we gear up for a fun Spring here at DDS Studios!!
It's been awhile since we've had a CASE-Out Thursday post. Seemed like it was time!! 😉😉
For the past 5 weeks we've been holding a virtual product-based class series called "Coffee & a Card" to roaring success!! Our focus product has been the Dragonfly Garden punch bundle, and each week we break for 30 minutes from our busy schedules to assemble a fun card! The group is loving it! And I'm having so much fun sharing again!
So, in line with that line of creativity lately, I wanted to share this card design on the blog today! This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. I often will peruse Pinterest when I'm needing some inspiration or a "kick start" if I'm feeling "out of the mood"! LOL
As usual, this card has been stepped up and changed slightly to fit my aesthetic - a "Wendy card" as my customer call it!
Let's get started with today's CASE!
Design Colorology . . .
Stamps, and Ink, and Paper . . . Oh, My!
Stamps: Dragonfly Garden
Paper: Basic White Thick cardstock base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2", scored @ 4-1/4"; Bumblebee cardstock - 3 "mat" pieces cut as follows: 4-1/4" x 5-3/8"; 2-1/8" x 4-3/4"; 2-1/8" x 4"; Basic White Reg. - 2" x 4-5/8"; scrap for stamped/punched dragonfly; Vellum - 2" x 4"; Dandy Garden DSP - background (Mossy Meadow w/scattered leaves design) 4" x 5-1/4"; horizontal strip (white background w/ bumblebee colored scattered dandelions) 2" x 4"
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Staz-On Black
Other: Dragonflies Punch; 1/4" Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon; 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots; Clear Wink of Stella

What makes this card for me, is not just the focal panel, but the Vellum overlay of the horizontal panel with the stamped sentiment.
I love how this softens the DSP design behind it, and softens the sentiment at the same time.
You'll note that not only is the vertical focal panel popped with dimensionals criss-crossing the horizonal panel below it; but the dragonfly is also popped with dimensionals, giving this card some nice dimension and lift effect, instead of just a "flat" feel.
The focal panel to this card is my favorite! I love the coloring with Stampin' Blends - especially blending the color for the dragonfly.
And of course, the finishing details make the card - Wink of Stella, pretty gingham bows, and enamel dots!!
We'll be back tomorrow with some "Friday Fun" in follow up to last week's Facebook Live event -- so be sure to come back and join me in the "fun!" LOL
And we'll be sneak peeking some fun next week as we prepare for this wonderful NEW Annual Catalog!!
In the meantime, we are continuing to retire much loved products in the current 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.
Click on the Catalog Image above to see the Retiring List (Last Change Products!!).
Remember, when it's sold out, it's gone!!
And the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog will officially release on May 4th!
