Hello Fellow Stampers ~
We've made it to Thursday! It's been a busy week here as we are working on projects around the house, and preparing for a visit from my husband's eldest son and his fiance on Saturday. They'll coming through for one night, but of course, you want everything to shine when you have visitors ! 😉😉
In the meantime, the Studio is a crazy mess with Product Share preps, and so much more going on! I need a helper!! LOL
I'm running a little behind on today's card design. I intended to have this done in time for my husband's retirement from Lockheed Martin on April 29th; but as always, with getting a party put together for him, and all sorts of other things going on, I didn't get it done. But then, I figure maybe he'll enjoy it a little more now that things have quieted down! heehee.
I've not had the chance to use the cute Senior Years stamp set before now! I bought it because I love the tongue in cheek sentiments in the set! Now was the perfect time to pull it out, dust it off, and ink it up!
I'm calling today's card a "CASE-out" because I was inspired by a design on Pinterest for the direction I took with this card. However, I did make this design my own; and I'm really thrilled with how it turned out!
Design Colorology . . .
This fun card incorporates a Black, Silver and Gray color scheme which was inspired by the paper I chose out of the Well-Suited Designer Series Paper collection. Perfect for a masculine card, it helped me incorporate my layers and layout too!! I wanted to be able to see the DSP, but also have other elements that made the card front interesting.
The male image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink; and then I colored with Watercolor Pencils. I realized that I reach for my Stampin' Blends so much, that I tend to forget we have lots of other wonderful products and tools to color with. I tried to make my "retired guy" look a little color and pattern mis-matched, just for fun, because that's what old guys do, right!?! LOL 😅😅😅
The inside of the card reflects the front, and finishes the sentiment perfectly!
I pulled the "Congratulations" from the new Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set -- and so it all works perfectly!
