Hello Fellow Stampers ~~
My how the time does fly. I hadn't actually planned on being away from the blog so long; it just sorta happened!! It was Thanksgiving . . . and then we went into the flurry of holiday decorating, which in this house is a HUGE undertaking . . . and then I'm up to my neck in trying to get Christmas gifts finished (several sewing projects), and the shopping, and it's time to start thinking about the baking, and the Christmas letter, and . . . . Well, you all know what I'm talking about I'm sure!! I'll try to share some of the projects I've been working on with you later.
So, here we are; and I'm desperately trying to get caught up, because . . . I have so much to share with you, and so much coming; and I'm really VERY excited about it all!! So bear with me. I'll try to blog as much as my schedule will allow; and get as much fun shared with you as I can!!
I'll be catching up our Twelve Weeks of Christmas (I'm about 3 posts behind on that), hopefully later this week. But, in the meantime, it's time to start looking forward to the new 2022 January to June Spring Mini Catalog! I hope you're ready for some fresh new products, and some fun!! I know I am!!
We're going to kick things off with all things Valentine's!! -- LOL
Because, of course, our next holiday in the New Year will be Valentine's Day!
We have a fabulous new set of products to celebrate the holiday of Love. I'm so excited to start sharing some of my favorites with you!!
The first bundle of products I'm giving you a sneak peek of is the Love & Happiness Bundle. This includes a fabulous sentiment cling stamp set that is akin to our previous "Itty Bitty" sets in that the sentiments are a smaller font size and will be perfect to use in so many ways.
The bundle also has one of our new and very fabulous Hybrid Embossing Folder & Die sets. If you haven't tried one of these yet, you are missing out on an incredible experience. Hybrid embossing folders allow certain dies to nest inside so that you get a cut and emboss experience all in one. It's fabulous!!!
This card is a 11" x 4-1/4" Thick Basic White card base, scored @ 5-1/2".
Then I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 3-7/8" x 5-1/8", and used the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder with the coordinating heart die. You can see here how the heart cuts out at the same time as the beautiful dry embossing design.
I then pulled out my wonderful chalk pastels, and used a technique I taught in my Pastels ASE's class earlier this Summer -- rubbing the chalks on the raised images of the embossed design. I used the Granny Apple Green, Pool Party & Daffodil Delight chalks in combination on the raised images.
Then I used chalk "dust" that I rubbed off the chalks and my blender brush to create a blended background on the card front.
I centered my embossed panel in place so I could see where to stamp the sentiment from the stamp set, using Memento Tuxedo Black; then I popped the panel in place using dimensionals after wrapping a piece of Pool Party Striped Grosgrain Ribbon near the top.
I finished off by attaching the bow with glue dots, and creating the "rippled" effect with each tail also using glue dots in just the right spots.
The very last detail are brand new Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels that you are absolutely going to DIE for!!! Trust me on this one!
How pretty is this?!!?
The inside is a little different than most of my cards.
I placed a 4-1/8" by 5-3/8" piece of Bermuda Bay on the inside; then attached the embossed heart that was cut out from the panel on the front of the card.
Next, I stamped this lovely sentiment from the Love & Happiness Stamp Set; and cut it out using a die from our Seasonal Labels Dies (which are, thankfully, carrying forward to next year!!).
That label is then popped with dimensionals over the heart in the background, and also finished off with the Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels.
I think that a black pen will still show up on this cardstock if you want to write a little note -- so it's all good!! LOL
This was one of those designs that kind of evolved as it went. I am, however, absolutely in love with this set of products -- and can hardly wait for you to get your hands on them in January!!
Get ready! New catalog coming to a mailbox near you soon!! LOL
I'll be back VERY soon to get you caught up on very important news from Stampin' Up! Lots going on . . . so little time!! LOL
I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
Hugs, . . .
