Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well my goodness!! It's been a busy week here at DDS Studios, as I am finally digging through the long lists of "to do's" and getting caught up. I feel like I've been fighting all week to get to a place to have today's card designed and ready to be posted!! Whew! I'm excited to say that things are finally starting to get a little more organized around here. The catching up part might still need some work!! LOL
I haven't done a CASE-Out Thursday post in quite a long time! I'm calling today's card design a "CASE" because I'm taking inspiration from my fellow Stampin' Schach & Pretty Pal Demo, Beth McCullough, for today's "fun fold" card, with some alterations to the measurements, etc., so that it will fit into one of our standard Stampin' Up! envelopes. Of course, that's what CASEing is really all about. Taking inspiration and making it your own!
The other happenstance of today's design is that I use a number of retired or very recently retired items in the design. This is not something I normally do; unfortunately because we don't have a lot of product right now that lends itself towards today's theme, I decided to dig into my stash and come up with some fun for our design. So, I'll try to point out what I'm using, and potentially when it retired. If you have these goodies in YOUR stash, snag them and have some fun. If you don't, be creative and find some other fun items to play with!!

"CASE-Out" Design Guide
Let's start today's card project with a discussion of the "fun fold" and how to assemble it.
The card base is cut in two parts.
Part 1 is 4-1/2" x 8-1/2"
Then score (see pic above), on the long side @ 3"
Part 2 is 3" x 5"
Then score (see pic above), on that long side at 3/4" - I have the piece flipped over here, because once I've scored, and burnished on that fold (bump to the inside), I'm going to put a little Multi-Purpose Glue on that flap and center and attach it to the back panel of the main card base in Part 1 above.
This is the piece that folds over the flap of the main card base - what I call a fold over (and Beth calls a "lever card").
You'll see that I chose to turn the card design vertical, and have the fold over flap flip up and and down from the top instead of the side.
Next, I added two little magnets (using glue dots), one on the folder over flap, and one on the main fold up flap on the main card base. These work perfectly to "snap" the two folds together and hold the card closed -- I love it!!
I chose Fresh Freesia cardstock for all my panel matting to give a lighter fun look and snagged a little piece leftover from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP to create a fun Silver foil striped underlay for the fold over flap.
On the fold-over flap, I matted with the Fresh Freesia, then chose one of the "darker" Silver foils in the Silver Foil Specialty Pack that we just had in our Holiday Mini (this wonderful 3-color foil package is carrying forward!! Yeah!), and embossed it with the Painted Texture 3D Emboss Folder. The nice thing about several of the foils in the Specialty Foil Package is they already have a texture to their surface, and by adding this embossing, it just enhanced that feel. It makes a perfect background for our champagne glasses, that I snagged from the retired Sip Sip Hooray photopolymer stamp set.
The champagne glasses are stamped with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder. This one's been retired awhile; thank goodness I have a nice stash of it!! LOL But it makes for a lovely effect like real glistening champagne glasses that I like.
Then I stamped the "champagne" using So Saffron ink, stamped off once; and used Clear Wink of Stella to add extra shimmer.
The sentiment is from the JUST retired Heartfelt Wishes cling stamp set - I hope you snagged this wonderful stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink, embossed with Silver Emboss powder; then fussy cut and attached with the stems of the popped champagne glasses with glue dots.
I finished these all off with the purple iridescent stars in the just retired Cute Stars Adhesive-Backed Sequins. They work perfectly!!
Here's a look as we start to open the flaps.
And here's how I finished the inside of the card.
Happy New Year everyone!! I hope you are looking forward to many hours of creative fun in 2022 with DDS Studios!! So glad you are here!!
