Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Sigh! Well . . . the Summer has definitely slipped away on me. And despite my best intentions to get back to the blog, I just have not quite succeeded!! We have been having class, both in-person and my virtual Coffee & a Card. So the creativity is ongoing; just not here. LOL I do hope you all will forgive me and join me as we try to get things back on track for this Fall and Holiday season ahead!!
This next week is my 3rd Year Anniversary week ~~ my husband and I have a nice little get-away planned. First time I'm leaving the state since our honeymoon in 2019. And I'm looking forward to it, actually!! So, hopefully, I'll be able to share more about our fun later!
In the meantime, my crafting gals asked me recently if I'd be designing a card for my honey for our anniversary! I laughed, and said, yes, I do need to get that done . . . or I'd pull one out of the stash I made before!! LOL I was berated with the "oh, you're "recycling" -- haha 😂🤣
The answer is "NO" !! I am NOT recycling. In fact, I spent quite a little time on the card I'm sharing with you today, and my husband will be receiving on Wednesday.
So I hope you'll enjoy this "fancy fold" card with lots of gold highlights and masculine touches.

Fold your card base as normal on the 4-1/4" score line; then fold the front "flap" backwards at the 7-1/4" mark.
Once the "background" of the front is in place, this front flap is secured with dimensionals.
The background panels behind the flap are Mango Melody, and a piece of Basic White that was embossed with the Leaf Fall 3D Emboss Folder, and gently colored with a Blending Brush with Old olive, Mango Melody, Crushed Curry, and Poppy Parade inks. Then you'll see a die cut overlay using the Chic Dies that was cut from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. That was put over a "curl" of Crushed Curry Baker's Twine (retired).
I used dies from the Chic Dies to cut "maple-looking" leaves from the same Distressed Gold Specialty Paper; and I used the incredible Aspen Tree Dies (by far my favorite this year) to cut my Aspen Leaves. I first used Blending Brushes on Shimmery White cardstock and blended Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie inks to create a lovely "washed" blend of colors; then cut my leaves. After that I used glue to add area of Gilded Leafing for that added extra touch. They're quite pretty in person!
The inside of the card includes layers of Mango Melody and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper; then a layer of Basic White that has the sentiment stamped in Versamark ink and embossed with Gold Emboss Powder. That lovely sentiment is from the Season of Chic stamp set; and the Happy Anniversary sentiment comes from the Celebrating You stamp set - also embossed with Gold Emboss powder, and cut with the oval label in the Beautiful Shapes Dies.
I added a few more of my Aspen leaves to finish it off.
I hope you have enjoyed this year's Anniversary Card for my husband.
Hang tight!! We'll be back as we work to get back into a blogging cycle!
