Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Howdy Howdy Everyone !! It's been sort of an "ugly" past three weeks. Work has been stressful, and other things going on have me distracted. Sigh. So I'm bringing you the previously Mix-It Up Monday post somewhat belatedly.
So it was my plan three weeks ago to share some of the fun we had at the Annual Christmas In July class on July 15th. It was a full house; and we had a ton of "festive cheer" going on!! LOL I even made a pan of homemade fudge in the morning for everyone!!
This fabulous coordinated card set was designed using the Cottage Wreaths stamp set and coordinated dies, along with some other fun products thrown in.
Our first card is a "clean and simple" card; but the design of the card allows us to trick the eye with some layering.
The card base is cut from Thick Basic White cardstock, and the front flap is cut with the new Gorgeously Made Dies. What I love about this die set is the two "edgelits" in the set - this one that looks "distressed" and the other edge die is made to look like the spiral edge on a piece of notebook paper!! LOVE!!! 😉😉
Using this edge on the front flap of your card, opens up the "inside" back of the card where we placed a strip of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that was embossed with the Quetrefoil Tile embossing folder. So you gain the "look" of layering without layering, AND you add dimension and texture by embossing the piece.
The front of card, then, is kept clean and simple, by stamping the sentiment right on the front of the card; and after stamping the wreath on a separate piece of cardstock, die cutting it out, it is adhered "flat" rather than popped. The dimension comes from the stamped and die cut berries that are adhered with glue dots; and the adorable die cut bow. Add a few Festive Pearls and you're set to go!!
The second card in this set steps things up a bit with some layering, but still maintaining lots of white space.
Again, using an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored @4-1/4", card base (fold to the top this time).
A layer of Garden Green, with the Basic White panel overlay background embossed again with the Quetrefoil Tile embossing folder. A strip from retired designer paper (Gingham Cottage DSP), lays at the halfway point in the background.
Then a square cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies is set "on point" (a quilting term 😉) and popped in place with dimensionals.
The same stamped wreath, die cut, along with the coordinating holly berries, stamped a die cut, and the Cherry Cobbler bow, all adhered flat in the square.
The piece is finished off with layered and offset labels cut using the Gorgeously Made Dies, and popped over the tip of the square using dimensionals; and some lovely Festive Pearls.
The inside of the card is finished to echo the card front.
The final card of the set, steps things up one more time, and is great for the advanced crafter.

We obviously didn't get a Christmas In July blog series in this year; but we'll intersperse some Christmas fun in the next weeks. There's a new Holiday Mini Catalog in the house!! Whoo Hoo!! And we'll be starting to play with new products soon.
In the meantime, it's time to kick off August / late Summer fun tomorrow. See you all later!
I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
Hugs, . . .
