Not in the Blog Hop - In Color Showcase

Happy Hump Day to you all!!  The 2nd Wednesday of May already!  My Goodness!!  It's Stampin' Pretty Pals Blog Hop Day . . . and as indicated earlier this year, I'm sitting out the "real" blog hop, and running on my own for awhile!  Nevertheless, I thought this month's theme was right in line with my current blogging showcase -- the New 2021-2023 In Color Collection!!  You may have seen recent blog posts from last week, and early this week in which we've been talking the new In Color collection, and showcasing some fun new products along the way!!

Today's fun Slimline design features our Sweet Ice Cream stamp set showcasing a 5-scoop ice cream cone with a wonderful array of In Color flavors!

And although I've never had green ice cream quite like these, I'm sure they are some sort of wonderful Pistachio or Mint flavors, right ??  LOL

I showcased my first Slimline on my DDS Business Facebook page last month using the Woodland Wonder set.  And I LOVE this type of card!

It was perfect to showcase my towering ice cream cone as well.

 

For this Slimline, you cut a piece of cardstock 8-3/8" x 7", scored at 3-1/2".  Today's card base is cut from Evening Evergreen cardstock.

And today's Slimline has a slight alteration to the design - I took 1/2" off the front flap, and laid a piece of this gorgeous Soft Succulent check from the Pansy Petal DSP to peek out along the side edge.

The the front layering includes Soft Succulent and a fun pattern from the In Good Taste DSP as a backdop.  These layers are wrapped with the gorgeous Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon before being adhered to the front of the card base flap.

 

The ice cream scoops were stamped on Shimmery White cardstock, in each of the five new In Colors; and the cone is on Cinnamon Cider with the same color ink for the stamping.

Once stacked and adhered to the card front, I added Clear Wink of Stella to my ice cream scoops so they would shimmer aplenty!!  LOL

 

It's all finished off with a lovely bow and a sprinkling of 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.

 

The inside of the card looks lovely with the plaid pattern down the right-hand side.

Terrific Tuedays ~ New 2021-2023 In Colors

Hello Fellow Stampers ~~

 

As promised, we're here today to chat about the New 2021-2023 In Color Collection.

And . . . tomorrow we'll be back with another design featuring this gorgeous new color collection that I have to tell you, I think is my favorite in awhile!  Like there is not one color in this new set that I don't like!!!

 

2021-2023 IN COLOR COLLECTION

 

Pale Papaya

Fresh Freesia

Polished Pink

Soft Succulent

Evening Evergreen

This set of new in colors is both soft and vibrant.  If you view yesterday's card design, you'll see what I mean.  Although the colors may feel subtle, they also capture the imagination and work so well together.

 

Let's take a little closer look at how these colors fit into the overall Color Collections at Stampin' Up!

 

Petal Pink

Pale Papaya

Mango Melody

The undertones in Pale Papaya blend best with Mango Melody when laid side-by-side.  Petal Pink contains similar undertones, but lends more to pink than to peach.  This is where Pale Papaya falls in the color family collections.

 

Blushing Bride

Polished Pink

Melon Mambo

Polished Pink is somewhat different; it will NOT go with the other In Color, Magenta Madness; and it doesn't play nice with Flirty Flamingo either.

It does however, as you can see here, blend nicely with Melon Mambo.  So this is where Polished Pink falls well into our color families.

 

Fresh Freesia

Rich Razzleberry

Blackberry Bliss

Fresh Freesia is truly a VERY fresh color; and doesn't play well with Highland Heather or Gorgeous Grape.  They are definitely NOT of the same color family (color undertones at play here).  But it does blend well with Rich Razzleberry showing us that it has more of a true pink undertone; and blends into the Blackberry Bliss realm from there.

Evening Evergreen

Our last two In Colors are totally new to our color families and really create a category of their own.  Most of our greens are either what I call a "true" green; or have yellow undertones (e.g., Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, etc.).  Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and blue/turquoise undertoned and really have no "home" in our color families.  They are a new "animal" and I'm beyond excited to see them.  They bring a new range that we have needed!!

 

As we travel through the Spring and Summer, I will be returning to providing you with Color Coordination suggestion palates over on my DDS Facebook page like I was last year.  I look forward to providing suggestions for different color palates that you can play with using our beautiful New 2021-2023 In Color Collection!!  So keep your eyes peeled for color combination suggestions to use in your designs!!

Mix-It Up Mondays ~~ In Color Shimmer Shimmer Shimmer !!!

Hello Fellow Stampers ~

How has everyone been?!  Somehow Mother's Day flew right by me, and once again, all my best laid intentions are out the window.  But we have been VERY busy around here.  Product Shares are well under way in prep; and some have even already left the Studio to their destinations.  I LOVE seeing all the new paper, ribbons, embellishments, and fun!!  I just want to pet EVERYTHING -- LOL -- and so doing shares allows me to do just that!!  I still have 4 spots left for an "I Want It All" product share.  You can see the details HERE if you are interested!

 

Today I'm sharing an In Color Showcase -- and better still the Brand New Absolutely GORGEOUS In Color Shimmer Vellum -- in all honesty, I don't think I've seen a paper quite like this before.  It's SO shimmery and glimmery, that one of my customers asked me while on the Catalog Launch Party if I had used Wink of Stella!!  😁😁😁

The answer is a resounding NO!!  That's how fabulous this paper is!  I'm going to need like 500 sheets of this I think - LOL!!

I think in several of these pictures you can catch some of the shimmer I'm talking about.  You also have the luxury of Vellum paper which is one of my favorites.

For this card I used a Basic White Thick card base; and then built a center embossed section with a Fresh Freesia border cut using the Peony Dies.  That is wrapped with Fresh Freesia 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon (bow added later).

Then the flowers are created with the Medium Daisy Punch; and the "leaves" with the regular Daisy Punch.  I punched one 'larger' daisy from Soft Succulent; and one from Evening Evergreen.  Then I carefully cut the daisy apart in paired petals of 2; then layered those together and tucked them underneath the dimensional popped flowers using glue dots to create "leaves."  Easy and fun!

 

The flowers are created punching 2 daisies each of the Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, and Pale Papaya.

Even more fun!  ~~  There is a coordinating color Loose Flower Flourish in the center of each flower; and some of the mini ones scattered in-between.

This card feels so "Springy" and fresh with these lovely colors!  And the shimmer is to die for!!  LOL

It's a Pansy Party and New Catalog Day!!!

Hello Fellow Stampers ~~ 

My goodness!! The time has flown by me these past several weeks; and ALL my best intentions to be posting and chatting with you have flown out the window. And there's a NEW Catalog in the house today!!  I hope you have yours, and are placing those orders!

Instead of getting my blogging accomplished, we've been VERY busy getting ready and holding the New Catalog Launch Party - which was done virtually this year!!  To GREAT success!!  And also, my husband retired from Lockheed Martin after a 42-year career this past week!!  WOW!!  So, we were busily putting together a rather impromptu retirement party here at the house; first time we've mixed with people outside of our immediate family and a few close friends in a year!  And of course, I HAD to make it special, because it is my husband after all!!  LOL  I'll share a few photos from the Retirement fun later this week!

Now that I have things a little bit in better order . . .  I'm ready to share some of the fun from this weekends Catalog Launch Party with the rest of you!!!  So let's get started with some Pansy Patch fun today!!

 

I am having so much fun with the new 2021-2023 In Colors, I may never use anything else!!!  LOL

These cards were inspired by some I found on Pinterest; and then I just had a lot of fun this past weekend playing with color combinations; and I've only just begun with this wonderful set of dies!!  Think of all you can do since Pansies come in all colors and combinations, right??

I have to tell you the other die set that I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with -- is the new Scalloped Contours Dies!!  Oh my!!

You see them showcased here in the layers on these cards -- and you're going to be seeing them a lot more in the future, trust me!  That largest scalloped rectangle is to die for!!

I had so much fun putting these wonderful little flowers together; and it's really not that hard!  You will want to make this bundle one of your "must have's" from the new catalog right out of the chute!
