Good Morning Fellow Stampers -

Happy Thursday.  Did everyone enjoy the Pretty Pals Blog Hop yesterday?  I hope you had time to hop through each website and enjoy all the creative inspiration.  I love seeing what my fellow Pals have created each month!!

Today it's Thursday Change-Up time when I just share something I've been working on or something special that's just for fun or showcases something I love.  It's my time to do my own thing without the constraints of a card challenge guideline.  Today, I'm going to share with you a group of Thank You notes I made over this past weekend.  I decided to use up some of the soon retiring products in my Studio - things that I love from this past year.

 

These cute little thank you cards are made using the Crumb Cake notecard and envelope set -- those cute 3-1/2" x 5" ready-made notecards I love.

The Crumb Cake notecards are retiring and are already sold out in fact!

I'm slowly using up my stash since I need to make room for other fun products.

 

I wanted to feature a collection using our retiring 2015-2017 In colors and realized I had the perfect showcase in our soon to retire Affectionately Yours SDSP.

This paper is really rich and showcases a number of the soon retiring colors just beautifully.

I am also showcasing a much loved stamp set in this card collection - one we are losing this year too!

Gorgeous Grunge!

This stamp set has been a mainstay for several catalogs now, and I really am sad to see it go.

 

Each card features one of the In Colors showcased against the designer paper -

This one is Watermelon Wonder, one of my favorites!

The Gorgeous Grunge image is stamped in the background, then the 1-1/2" DSP piece is adhered in place.

The Whisper White layer is also matted in the featured In Color.

Then the sentiment is stamped - I picked this one from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set for its pretty and simple font.

Finally, I finished off with the Blossom Accents that retired a year ago.  I love my stash I've held onto; but now I'm using them up since this In Color collection is retiring in full this year!

 

This one features Mint Macaron - the color against the Crumb Cake works nicely!

 

This card features Tip Top Taupe, which blended well with the Crumb Cake as well.

Notice I've matched the DSP onto the envelope for each card?  Makes for a nice touch.

 

This one showcases Cucumber Crush - a nice fresh green I'm going to miss!

Well, here we are -- and the May showers are falling for us this week.  The hillsides are beginning to green around here.  We have to enjoy it now, because in a semi-arid climate like Colorado, the hot summer sun will turn them back brown again soon!  I do love Spring!!!  :-)

Enjoying Summer Sweetness for the Paper Players ~

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers ~

Happy Monday!  Off we go into another week, and we're stepping fully into May now - so hard to believe.  We had our first Spring thunderstorm yesterday afternoon; and the rain smelled so sweet!  I love the rain! My little yard needs some attention from me; so hopefully in the next couple weeks I'll find some time to start some Spring recovery - especially to my little area of grass.

 

 

It's time to kick of the week off with the Paper Players [PP343] challenge.  And this "sweet" little challenge came along at just the right time as the paper and stamp set I'm showcasing today have been on my work table for the past two weeks as one I've been wanting to showcase before it was too late.  Let's play !!  😉

 

 

Doggone Delightful Stampin' Design Tips:

• Layerothology.  This card is cut from Thick Whisper White cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"; then turned so the fold is to the top - a horizontal top fold as I call it.  I am showcasing the soon retiring Fruit Stand designer series paper in the background of this card today; matted with the also soon retiring Watermelon Wonder cardstock - so nice and fresh, vibrant and bold!  I wrapped the layering with some retired Pear Pizzazz 1/4" Cotton Ribbon before adhering to the card base front.

 

 

• Fresh Fruit.  Ahhhh - a stamp set that I loved the first time I saw it ~ Fresh Fruit ~ how sad that this set is retiring at the end of the month.  This is a 2-step stamp set; and features some of my most favorite fruits - strawberries and peaches - mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!  When I saw today's theme challenge I just knew right away that I would feature my favorite sweet Strawberries - I adore strawberries!  A little sugar and nothing is better than fresh summer strawberries from the garden!  These little beauties are stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink on Whisper White cardstock, and fussy cut so that I could arrange them just so.  I also "sugared" them with Clear Wink of Stella -- fun!  This fun sentiment is from the Everyday Tags stamp set in the Spring Occasions catalog -- did you miss this set?  It's wonderful! 
  

 

I decided I don't use my Layering Ovals Framelits nearly enough and pulled them out for this design.

I'm not sure why I gravitate to circles and squares more these days.  I really do love the oval shape.

A double Pear Pizzazz bow and some long since retired In Color Blossom Accents in Watermelon Wonder top this card off.

I have since decided sitting and looking at the card that I wish I had put seed pearls on the strawberries to accent the "seeds" - I may do that yet before the card is sent to anyone!

 

 

• Turn to the Inside.   The inside of this card turned out so cute!  I combined sentiments from two different sets to complete my "sweet" theme.  The sentiment in Cucumber Crush is from Sweet Cupcake; and it goes nicely with the "Happy Birthday" in Watermelon Wonder from Fresh Fruit.  These strawberries are stamped off once first before being stamped in the card, and the outline left off the leaves to give a softer more watercolor feel.  I LOVE the inside of this card!!!!  LOL  Wish I was getting this one for my birthday next month.  After all, June is the month of Strawberries 😉

 

Here is a slightly different look to catch the glimmer of the Wink of Stella . . .

Thursday Change-Up ~ Thank You Note Show Case!

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers!

Howdy Do!!  LOL  It's Thursday, and frankly I'm tired this week.  So I had planned on sharing Paper Pumpkin today; but I was too tired to really do what I wanted to do, so we're going to back-burner that until next week, and I'm going to showcase my "huge" project I spent all day this past Sunday on -- another round of Thank You notes that I desperately needed and had a ball putting together.  I did these a little bit differently than the batch the other week.  This time I created 4 different designs and made 3 cards of each design.  So it was a little less "assembly-line" and a little more painstaking in the details.  I love how these turned out!!

 

All of these are the little notecard size cards I love to make; and even more fun . . .  I'm showcasing the brand new Very Vanilla notecards and envelopes set that you will be seeing in the new Annual Catalog!!  I love having these in Very Vanilla now!!

 

There are some really wonderful products showcases in this card design ~

The Swirly Scribbles Thinlits make a great background for the Succulent framelit flower; and the sentiment from the Love Sparkles stamp set is the perfect compliment (I really love this stamp set in the Spring Occasions catalog; give it another look on page 53).

Enamel dots and Wink of Stella finish off this card with style!!

All of today's card sets feature the fabulous Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack.  This paper is so fun and beautiful!!  It will be gone by the end of May -- snap up a pack today!!

 

On this card, I also featured the soon retiring Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape - what a quick and easy "pop accent" to this card !

The Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Squares Framelits work together perfectly to make my little "window" and make a nice background for the Sunshine Wishes flower stem in Peekaboo Peach.  Like that Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon bow?  It will be gone by the end of May too!!  So don't miss out!!

 

 

I found the perfect little "thank you" sentiment tucked in the That's the Tag stamp set.  You might want to take another look at that adorable little set and matching framelits.  It too will be gone by the end of May!  Some of these are sleepers that are getting missed I think!!

 

This fun card was designed for my recent blog candy winners and others I sent gifts to.  How fun is this!!

I used the Balloon Bouquet punch and some more paper from the Playful Palette collection.

Another sentiment from that great Sparkle Love stamp set, some sequins and a baker's twine bow!

What more could you ask for!! ??  LOL

 

Something you may have noticed on the previous cards - and you'll see again on the next - I used an easy technique to attach elements together - my fabulous little Handheld Stapler.

The sad thing about that is our Handheld Stapler is long gone!  If you were lucky enough to get one, be sure to use this tool!  It's fabulous!!

 

Now here's a sweet card that I hope my recipients will love!

Softly done up in pink and ivory, the heart is another wonderful die from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

The background is embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF.

 

You can see how I attached the heart with the stapler to the background here; and tied a piece of Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon around the heart for a fun added embellishment.

The banner is cut with the Duet Banner Punch, and the sentiment on this set is from the Thoughtful Banners set.  Some Blushing Bride Sequins and some Pearls - and this card is complete!

Sweet??

Retirement Favorites Focus

 

Good Morning Fellow Stampers :-)

Here we are on a "Hump Day" and our weather is slowly deteriorating here in Colorado to a cold drizzly (maybe even snowy) weekend ahead.  I think it may be conducive to staying in!!  :-) 

 

 

Today I'm going to share several different cards we did this past weekend in my "Out With the Old" retiring products class.  Boy did we have fun!  I sure ran this group through a lot of projects!!  LOL  What fun!  Now it's your turn to see and play just a little.  I featured several of my very favorite products that are leaving us the end of May; one of those you have already seen over this past week Here and Here.  I do love the Fiesta Suite and am quite sad to see my Llama riding off into the sunset!!

 

 

 

 

I also shared this set with you last Friday - the Blossom Bunch Punch and coordinating stamp set has definitely been one of my favorites.  I promised everyone that I would show this in the other colorway that is in the Blooms & Bliss DSP, and my stampers got to see it first!!  I shared the alternate colorway on my Facebook page earlier this week!  So be sure to pop over and take a peak.  

 

 

And I'm giving you a little close-up view of it here.  So pretty ~ all the details, from the lace and butterflies, to the Wink of Stella on all the petals and the pearls.  This card design is perfect for so many occasions, as you can see from the different sentiments I used.

 

 

 

Then we moved to a favorite "background" stamp we had over this past year!!  I adore this pineapple, and am really going to miss it.  Let me talk you through a couple special techniques and features about this card design for a few minutes.  First, the main pineapple is inked with Delightful Dijon and the topper is inked in Cucumber Crush - both In Colors we will be losing in a month (so sad!).  Then, with an AquaPainter and some Soft Suede ink I "painted" the lower portion of each pineapple medallion.  This is how I got the "distressed" or more realistic look to the pineapple.  Not only does it add a little brownish tinge here and there, but it also "removes" some of the Delightful Dijon ink which helps soften the look.  I then came back through with my Gold Wink of Stella (also retiring in a month), to the upper portion of each medallion to add a lovely glow and glimmer. 

 

 

There is Soft Suede brushed on the green topper as well; and then a "flicking" technique with a watercolor brush gives the fun "spot" effect and helps pull out somemore color in the green.  It really is so cool!!  The sentiment is stamped in Archival Basic Black, and some leftover "brushed gold" sequins from a Paper Pumpkin kit finish off this fabulous card!!

 

 

 

Finally, we did some fussycutting with one of my very favorite Host Sets.  I think sometimes we forget all about our Host stamp sets, and they are so lovely!!  Fabulous Flora was one of my top picks.  I pulled out our soon retiring Crumb Cake notecards and envelopes set, and we used some pretty washi tape from the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape collection as a simple "dress up" to the Perfect Plum layered card front.  I also used the soon retiring Falling Petals TIEF (so sad about this one too). 

 

 

The image is stamped in Archival Basic Black on Shimmery White cardstock, and watercolored with an AquaPainter and Wild Wasabi, Sweet Sugarplum, and Perfect Plum inks.  And of course I brushed the flowers and leaves with Clear Wink of Stella!!  😉 The piece is finished off with a piece of Elegant Eggplant Baker's Twine.  Except for your fussy cutting, which is just a little time-consuming is all, this is a sweet and easy notecard to whip together.
