Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well, Whew!! Thankfully this crazy week is coming to an end for me!! However, there are changes afoot here at the Klein-McGee household! It looks like, due to the continued "lock-down" issues at Assisted Living and care facilities in the state, that we are going to bring Mike's mom (my mother-in-law) here to stay with us for awhile; get her "out of jail" so to speak!! It just isn't working anymore for her to stay at the Assisted Living facility she moved into last Fall. So . . . . we'll be having a house guest for awhile 😉😉 That should keep me extra busy!!
Today it's time to CASE a lovely card -- this one from page 56 of our lovely 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. Of course, it's been "stepped up" a little -- LOL. And we have a fun technique to talk about a little bit today!

"CASE-Out" Design Guide

Alright, here we go . . .
1. Score your Soft Suede cardstock at 4-1/4", and gently fold and burnish with your bone folder (scored bump to the inside)!!
2. Now let's talk about the gorgeous "scrollwork" on the foreground background - haha

Too often I overlook some of the wonderful products I've got tucked in the drawers -- and our wonderful Shimmery White Embossing Paste is one of those!
This gorgeous background is created using the "scrollwork" decorative mask you will find in the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks collection. In the image above I showcase how this looks with just the plain Shimmery White Embossing Paste (on the upper left); and then what happens when you mix in a couple of drops of re-inker -- what a difference!!
Take a little paste on your palette knife, put it on a silicone mat; add a couple of drops of Soft Suede re-inker, and mix good. Then smear across the mask onto the cardstock -- pull the mask away; and let dry! You are going to LOVE the iridescent shimmer that comes through and how gorgeous this is!!
3. Attach the finished Soft Suede piece to the Mossy Meadow cardstock; wrap a piece of 3/8" Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon around the layers; then attach to the front of the Soft Suede cardstock base.

4. Take the 2-5/8" x 4" piece of Whisper White cardstock; align the larger "label" die from the Beautiful Boughs die set on one end; lay your cutting plate over just half of the die and roll through (you do NOT want to cut the opposite end of the label die); re-position the label die so it aligns on the opposite end, lines up the lines you already cut; lay the cutting plate so you only cover the die right up to the point where it meets the previous cut. Roll thru the Big Shot. If you do it right -- you should end up with a "rectangle" piece that looks like the smaller size die. [I'll try to do a short video on this technique to share shortly]
5. Stamp the large and small pine cones in Soft Suede on the label.
6. Pop it on the front of the card base using dimensionals.
7. Cut 2 each of the large and small pine boughs in the die set - 1 from Old Olive; 1 from Mossy Meadow in each size.
8. Snip apart as needed, and arrange around the label using glue dots or multi-purpose glue to attach each piece.

9. Using your Palette Knife, add Shimmery White Embossing Paste to various branches - and let dry.
10. Stamp the sentiment on the 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock; cut with the smaller label in the die set.
11. Layer the Merry Merlot cardstock behind the label; add to the card front using dimensionals.

There's a brand new product from the upcoming 2020 August - December "Holiay" Mini Catalog I snuck onto this design!! Can you guess what it is ??
Leave a comment below . . . and I will take a drawing next week from the correct answer. The winner will receive for FREE whatever that product is! (I'm not giving ANY hints) -- LOL
It's hard to believe that I never really played with this delightful stamp and die set when it came out last year!! After this card, I really love it!!!

I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
Hugs, . . .
