Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Howdy Howdy Stampers!! What a busy week it has been!! I'm just flying thru projects in the Studio this week!!! LOL I wish I had felt better this past month and gotten some of this done sooner; but better late than never, right?? I'm just getting the chance to touch some of these Sale-A-Bration sets before it's all over . . . and I'm just lovin' it!!
Today we're going to play with a set that I was really just drawn to the moment I saw it -- it's the country girl in me, and yearning for the farm I think!! But I do love anything that screams barnyard, farm, country, you name it!! LOL -- and so it is with the Home to Roost Sale-A-Bration stamp set!! So fun! Simple set, yet with so many options!!

We won't do our full-fledged "CASE-Out" post today where I give you all the details, colors, step-by-step instructions for the project, etc. Instead, we'll just take a nice look at these projects, and talk about them a little bit!! I hope you always take time to look at your brochures and catalogs, because they come chock full of inspiration, ideas, and tips . . . and you just don't want to miss out on that!!

This fun set of projects features some of my favorite products - like the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF, and the gorgeous Copper Tea Tins from the Annual Catalog.
AND - I just LOVE trying new things, and putting all kinds of detail into my projects as you all know!! LOL

Let's start with this sweet card today - which is CASE'd from the sample on page 11 of the First Release Sale-A-Bration brochure, with "Wendy" upgrades of course!! LOL
The card base for this card is cut from Soft Suede (8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored @ 4-1/4")
The mat background is Cajun Craze, and the overlay background is our soon retiring Tranquil Tide, embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and lightly sponged with a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede ink to give a distressed look!
Want a great "country" color combination? This is definitely a great one!!

The focal background is cut from a piece of Wood Textures DSP, and stamped with the "grass" image fromt he Home to Roost Sale-A-Bration set in Soft Suede classic ink.
The the entire piece is "colored" with Watercolor Pencils, using Pacific Point for the sky, and the a range of Daffodil Delight and Old Olive for lower behind the grass and towards the bottom of the piece. Technique Tip: Make sure your water color pencil has been sharpened nicely, and then use the side of your pencil to color large areas like this.

Mr. Rooster was stamped in Soft Suede ink on Shimmery White cardstock, and colored with Watercolor Pencils as well (no water involved here); and then fussy cut! Just take your time; he's not too hard to cut out! The sentiment chosen from the featured stamp set is stamped in Soft Suede ink on Soft Suede cardstock, and cut with the smallest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. The rooster and rectangle are carefully put together and popped with dimensionals, after adding some Braided Linen Trim, that was "frayed" on the ends. And yes, I added some Clear Wink of Stella to Mr. Rooster for a nice shimmery effect (be careful - watercolor pencil means ANY liquid, moves and wets the color).

The Copper Tea Tin really is so much fun!! And it's nice to "think outside the box" regarding pieces like this. How often do we think about embossing metal? And this is so easy!!

The tip here is to work each side of the tin one at a time (don't try to Versamark and heat emboss all at once); first use your Embossing Buddy all over the side you're working on, then carefully stamp your image using Versamark; put on the Copper emboss powder, and then leaving the tin laying on your work table heat the powder. This is important!! The metal of the tin will get hot, so don't touch it!! Just lay it down flat and heat!! Also, emboss powder changes VERY fast on metal, so it won't take you very long!!. Turn and do each side in turn -- I did all four sides of my tin - and it's gorgeous!!!

I created an easy "belly band" around the top/bottom of the Tin that can easily be removed or put back on using our Burlap Ribbon and some Tear & Tape. Then I took another length of Burlap Ribbon and separated it, then tied a bow, and attached it to the top with Glue Dots.

The tag is easy enough to make, using a piece of Tea Room DSP (isn't that fabulous how "country" that looks?), and my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I added a Pearlized Doily (which you can get a package of 2 of these doilies right now for FREE with Sale-A-Bration), using Fine-Tip Glue, adhering just half to the tag, then snipping the rest away.
Again, Mr. Rooster is stamped, this time in Cajun Craze, on Shimmery White cardstock, and he is now colored with Stampin' Blends - Night of Navy, Cajun Craze, Melon Mango, and Real Red. He is also "fussy cut," and some extra shimmer added with Clear Wink of Stella. A simple Crushed Curry tag and all adhered together to the Tag with SNAIL -- and attached to the "belly band". How easy is that!!??!!
I just love it!! And you can own this stamp set for FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase. But only if you hurry and get it before the end of the day on Sunday!!!
