Hello Fellow Stampers ~
Well, my goodness!! The weekend flew right by me somehow! Whew! And I'm running late getting up our final installment of our Week of Sale-A-Bration here at DDS Studios! I hope you don't mind . . . it took me a little bit to put together these final card designs with my Most Favorite item(s) from the Sale-A-Bration offering this year!
Before we jump into the fun here, there is a lot going on these past couple weeks at DDS Studio to kick off 2021. We are moving to a more "virtual" platform for classes and tutorials. You will be seeing new offerings in the weeks ahead. Keep an eye on the DDS Facebook Page for more announcements and Facebook Live events. I'm looking forward to sharing with you a new series I have planned for this year; and more!! It's gonna be fun, I promise! ๐๐
I'm dusting off one of my very favorite Z-Fold designs to showcase my #1 Favorite Bundle from the Sale-A-Bration brochure, and the coordinating Bundle from the 2021 Spring Mini Catalog -
The Berry Blessings Stamp Set & Berry Delightful DSP
and the Sweet Strawberry Bundle (earn the Berry Blessings Stamp Set & Berry Delightful DSP with your minimum $100 purchase).
So let's step through and take a closer look at each of these fun-fold cards and details; and why I love to do this so much - it's ALL about showcasing that gorgeous DSP!! You check out last year's versions of this design HERE.
Before we begin, here are the measurements that you will want to cut the DSP (designer series paper) for all these projects:
Cut your 12" x 12" designer series paper 5-1/4" x 11-3/4"
Then score down the long side at 1-3/4", 4-3/4" & 7-3/4"
(Don't you just LOVE this paper? I am just drooling!! Especially since I LOVE strawberries -- LOL)
The first card is our "full" DSP Z-Fold and what I call the true "classic" fold where we simply attach the cut and scored DSP to a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base. Now as you know, I'm never that "simple" in my approach, so you will see in this card that the main base is cut from Real Red cardstock, and the layered mat is cut from Poppy Parade at 4-3/8" and 4-1/8".
Then the front flap/fold holds a main overlapping/or overreaching piece (whatever you want to call it), and the main decorative and embellishment details.
When stretched fully open this is what your card should look like. With your scoring, you should see 4 total panels.
Here is the card from the back. For this card, I decided to overlay the front of the front panel with the coordinating design image from the inside of the card instead of allowing the back of the paper to show to the front. I just decided I liked it better; usually you wouldn't do that.
Here's a closer look at the very back inside panel and the facing panel to it. - Some cute flags, Vellum cut circle, circle cut sentiment, and a little twine.
And a closer look at the front panel when the card is closed.
This is card #2 - in this version, the 1st flap is glued/adhered to the next flap, shortening the length of the Z-Fold.
So here is this version opened up - you can see it is shortened with the first flap adhered to the next flap.
And here I allowed the back design to show to the front.
A closer look at the front detail - so pretty!! These flower are punched out of the designer paper using the Strawberry Builder Punch.
Some Love You Always Foil, a little Wink of Stella, some pretty Pastel Pearls, and lovely Purple Posy bow, and you're all set to go with those luscious raspberries sitting in the background!!
The third card glues/adheres all the panels one to the next, adhering only the edges of the back panel to create a "pocket" for the sentiment card (or a gift card if you'd like) to slide in and out.
This card is definitely a favorite!
Here it is with the card slid out of the pocket. I love it!! And I adore this paper!!
A closer look at the front detail - that lovely edge I created is from a die in the Peony Dies collection! I stamped, then fussy cut the blueberries and stem before putting it on the Stitched Oval.
I'm lovin' the fun with Sale-A-Bration ~~ I hope you are too!! There will definitely be more "berry" cards on the horizon; but in the meantime, it will be time to visit with some adorable "chicks"; and we're about to kick off a Week of Valentine's - so stay tuned!! ๐๐๐
I Love to hear from you. Leave your questions or comments below!!
Hugs, . . .
